What's frustrating is that they wasted two seasons for the young players by keeping a chaotic environment where the kids had no idea what they were supposed to do and the team had little data to know what they could do.

They either had no idea how or had no intention to maximize the high potential players' strengths. They never try in any extensive stretch to check out how things might work (apart from the KPJ PG experiment which had gone way too long when it was obvious not very promising).

That may or may not be because Jalen Green was never benched for Garrison Matthews, Jabari Smith was never benched for Usman Garuba, and Alperen Sengun was benched for Bruno Fernando.

He made it up. Quite obvious.

He's getting more and more desperate.

That would be horrible. FVV overated, Dillon Brooks nobody wants but us, hmmm, Lopez starting would just keep Sengun down another year.

If what @Clutch posted is actually Stone's plan, he should be fired.

If what @Clutch posted is the Fertitta family's plan, the Rockets are ****ed.

That 5 is absolute bonkers. So in the last three years we drafted Jabari, Green, Sengun, Amen, Tari, our best shooter is KPJ but only 2 of them starts because why? If we were gonna build a vet team we didn't have to suck for 3 years. I don't wanna see more than 1 vet starting for us.

I agree with the general sentiment of your post but not this.
Even jokic was labeled unplayable in the playoffs etc until he won it all this year. Some refused to accept his greatness before he won a ring. He would definitely have a hype train if he were playing for Silas or a coach that had no idea what to do with him the first two years of his career.
Most reactions to Sengun are by haters, not triggered by the hype train and as much as hype train creates its reactions, the irrational evaluation of Sengun and refusing to recognize his obvious potential fuel the hype train. Bruno Fernando over Sengun? Come on!!!
I will just keep enjoying Sengun shattering our expectations.

I see this being mentioned a few times, so wanted to chime in about it. This is honestly not the head scratcher insanity that Sengun Stans make it out to be. Going into the season, we were heavily invested in the playmaking of KPJ and Green. Bruno (in theory) provided a much more viable roll threat than Sengun. The idea was the make things easier for the backcourt while Sengun could develop himself as a playmaker off the bench. Making an adjustment that potentially benefited the (at the time) main investments of our offense while still giving a smaller investment develop time makes sense. Obviously things didn't go that way (primarily due to Silas's nonexistent offensive system), but no one outside haters and idiots ever thought this meant Bruno was remotely a better player than Sengun.

Also, this might MAYBE make sense if you build a vet team around like a top 10 player in the league. But none of these three guys is even better than Sengun - now. So what the hell would be the point.

The haters hated long before any "hype train". Some very important Rocket fans didn't want the Rockets to draft him, at all, even at 16.

Neither were KPJ and Green - the argument of the people wanting to see Sengun benched wasn't that Bruno was better than Sengun, but that it would be "better for the team" because KPJ and Green were supposedly more important than Sengun, and it was all about accommodating their weird "my turn, your turn" chucking.

That has always been an extremely flawed argument to begin with, because it argued for stunting Sengun's development in favour of lesser players (the guards).

This is actually fine, I just misunderstood. I thought you meant "there's a video out there" like on youtube or something where I can watch him miss all these easy reads. If you just meant you see it all the time in games, that's valid. It's not reasonable for anyone to expect you to cut up some compilation just for the people on this board. But also, don't say "yall know what's up", like we all see it too and we're in denial or something. I watched all the games too, and I don't see it at all.

Brook probably is better than Sengun rn. He is a good shooter and defender but he's 35.

Lopez is a better shot-blocker and a better three-point shooter, and has much more experience with playing good defense in the NBA. Sengun is the much better offensive player, more athletic, much better rebounder, much better passer. They would be a nice tandem. But Lopez is 35, he will be on the decline, while Sengun is on the way up. I would be very happy with getting him, and overpaying him massively for a couple of years. But he would clearly be the backup, and a mentor to Sengun. That would be ideal.

It can't be about stunting Sengun's growth, it has to be about bringing in someone with a complementary skillset, pushing him, mentoring him, making him better.

And I am confident that that's how Udoka sees it as well.

If part of that is Sengun watching Lopez play, that's fine with me. But Sengun should play 30+ minutes per game.

Neither Green or KPJ are "lesser" players than Sengun. Now, have we confirmed they are not as skilled compared to Sengun? Yes, hence us looking for an actual PG the moment the season ended. With that said, both Green and KPJ have their own strengths that Sengun doesn't have and ALL THREE PLAYERS are on the same level in that NONE OF THEM are have proven they are franchise players.
