It’s not green or sengun I’m worried about. It’s kpj. Is he goin to be able to adjust his game enough to be a main player for Udoka because Udoka comes form the pops tree and they don’t believe I all that pounding the ball. He needs to make quicker reads and faster decision maker.

We jsut need him to play off ball, get to the open spots and space the floor efficiently. And be the defender. We know he can be. The sophomore slump refers to the. Offensive guys who carry the load, usually. That’s ain’t Jabari
From looking over lots of players' stats, "sophomore slump" seems to be more of a thing for older rookies like age 20-23. Really young guys who just weren't ready in the first place often take a step forward in their second seasons.
Using advanced statistics, Jalen Green ranks in the lower half of the 2022-2023 Rockets players who got regular minutes. There's really no valid argument that he's the best player on the team.
Spurs had much less talent than the Rockets and still got the same record. They would have been better had they not held out their best player (Keldon Johnson) once every three games to tank.
Advanced stats are misused & can be used to create false narratives. When we play other teams the only player they're creating defensive schemes around is Jalen Green, nobody else
He could coach a team of rabbits into the 7th seed I was told. I couldn’t careless if they had the same record. You clearly missed the point and what I responded to
Ah yes, the blasphemous stats that show Jalen Green is an awful player are clearly lying. After all, we all know the Rockets' mindless chucker is a budding star based solely on his draft position and the raw number of points his mindless chucking ended up scoring. Hopefully he chucks 28 shots per game so that he'll have a chance to score 30 points per game this season.
He could become the best scorer. The best overall player is Sengun. Even if Jamal Murray scores 50 in a game and even if Jokic had never scored 50 in a game, Jokic would still be the best player on that team. Same thing here. And that's perfectly fine. Jokic is even generous enough to say Jamal Murray is their best player, when everyone knows it's Jokic. I could see Alpi doing the same thing.
I think "mindless chucker" is a ridiculous way to describe him, but I think it is weird how much of this BBS doesn't see how bad he's been to this point.
Is it really about Jalen anymore or is it personal? Even if you wanted Mobley so bad, i'd imagine you'd get over it eventually as everyone does when their team passes on a prospect they like. No one hates Marcus Morris for being selected over Kawhi and Mobley is unlikely to end up as good or impactful as Kawhi. In fact, Kawhi went to a championship aging dynasty -in the WCF as a rookie, Finals year 2, champ and FMVP year 3. We never saw Kawhi on a garbage team. Mobley has also played on a far better built team which has immense benefits for him, but you know this. He's also just ahead in physical maturation-a year older than Jalen i believe? So this is the year you start to see Jalen's body get stronger which makes the game easier. I just feel with the lack of trajectory of your posts still being equal to the peak of your criticism/hate, there's no room for you to like him even if he turns all the negatives you post about into positives. You will find something else to pick at. Ultimately it just feels like you need to be right about your stance against him. We're heading into year 3. He's bigger looking. He's looking smoother. More confident. He's finally got a good coach. May take half a year for everyone to gel under the new system. Year 3 is usually when a player starts to trend up. If he doesn't, then you get your wish and you're right for another year. If he does trend up especially under Ime's tutelage and actual system, then a good ole "Good job! Good effort!" wouldn't be too much to ask for, would it? Or are you going to wait for every opportunity to pounce whenever he makes a mistake? Hating an already hated rival that's traded to you like Derek Fisher or a punk who destroyed chemistry only to bail after he sucked and threw everyone else under the bus like Scottie Quitten is one thing(Scottie has always shown his true colors-now look at him today. People show you who they are). Hating on a kid drafted to your tanking team and has done nothing but be a 19,20 year old player just looks sad at this point. He's given no reason off court to make this so personal and he's been so young, it can't be that personal on court. KPj showed me who he was off court several times, but he was a kid and i know that. If i can come around on KPj and looking forward to seeing how he adjusts off ball, you can look forward to something about Jalen, can't you?
Bad compared to what other 19-21 year old scoring guard? His stats and efficiency of his first two years almost exactly mirror guys like Ant and Booker. So horrible is kinda of an absurd way to explain it.
Does Jokic's scoring efficiency plummet massively when Murray is not on the court with Jokic? Because that's what happens to Sengun. Sengun needs Green a lot more than Jokic needs Murray.
I really want to see him moving and catching and shooting........that is what Ime is going to need, both KPJ and Green should be doing that, as Amen will eventually be the point FORWARD from the SF position and Green and KPJ will be the SGs. DD
