once again. We all know he isn’t getting fired. Also, stop trying to act like you know who is a bigger fan than who. That is complete stupidity. Of course we should he discussing wherher or not this bumbling idiot should be fired. Absolutely we ahould and it’s anything but “nonsensible”. The reason it isn’t “nonsensible” is because he really should be fired. Don’t come on here talking about people’s level of fandom. You have no idea.
The pitching staff was so good last year there was literally no way for Dusty to **** it up, and Click leashed him up during the playoffs but that almost got wrecked by him using an injured McCullers. we have not the pitching staff for Dustyisms this year. MCullers was going to pitch game 7!!! If Chas doesn't make that catch.... and Dusty hates that guy! Fire his ass!
Nobody fires a manager after a WS win.....less than half the season in...and the team is still in the playoff hunt. You are an idiot. Just like the others. Dusty didn't cause the injuries. That is the #1 reason for this team being where it is. It seems we jad this conversation like summer. We all know by September y’all had shut up and stop whining. It is laughable the same people with same BS.
that post you made about chas was defending Dusty. You do that all the time. Little flippant comments that insinuate that everyone is silly for their opinions. “Us” was not used weirdly at all. I am one of the people you are addressing in your anti-chas, pro Dusty posts. Hence, us. I don’t accept homework assignments and go hunting down other peoples posts at their request. I will just call you out for it going forward, like I did today. I like you Buck. Whatever.
I didn't actually compare anyone's fandom. I simply said that some people feel the need to project theirs with what I perceive to be manufactured overcompensation dressed up as passion. Anyway, Dusty not pinch hitting Diaz for Nads there with a runner on third was the kind of pure negligence we've unfortunately come to expect, and have no reason to believe won't continue. It's frustrating, to say the least.
This is how I felt about last year, and I think is basically the story playing itself out this year. If our pen can regain it's dominance one way or another, we may be able to win another title despite our shared obstacle.
I have no Idea why, but I just blew chicken salad chunks out my nose this made me laugh so hard! Truth in comedy, and all that I guess...
Dusty Baker isn’t going to get fired so I don’t really over think it. Also he and Brown have a better relationship than Click and Baker, so I am more inclined to believe they will work a lot of the problems out. As for the bullpen, what is Baker supposed to do? Right now he has Montero who obviously needs to be fixed but isn’t on the DL, Seth Martinez who is marginal and Ryan Stanek who has been bad in the pen. The guys he can trust somewhat are Pressly, Maton, Abreu and Neris - that’s it. He can’t pitch those 4 every game. He has to pitch Montero, Stanek and Martinez. On top of that, his #3 starter is a rookie, his #4 starter is also a rookie and his #5 starter constantly is pitching out of trouble. Outside of Valdez, these guys don’t often go more than 6 innings. I see a complete lack of movement by the GM- Why isn’t Montero on the DL or on assignment in AAA so he can work out his issues? Why haven’t the Astros traded for a reliever or two? The whole thing is playing with fire. What happens when Blanco or France get shelled or someone gets hurt in the rotation. The Astros should have made up 3-4 games EASY on the Rangers the last couple weeks. I don’t like Dusty not playing Diaz every game. I don’t like Dusty’s obsession with Julks - but the pitching is all on the GM.
Translation: Baker makes a ton of stupid decisions throughout the regular season, which is cool usually since we’ve been so stacked in what has previously been a s**** division that we are always up double digits in the standings, BUT come playoff time we have to reign in the stupidity. It’s ridiculous when you think about this from a logical standpoint.
Then he needs to be on the DL or accept an assignment to the minors. Montero/Stanek and Martinez are like 40% of the pen and they have been bad to horrible - but have to pitch because of innings that our starters don’t pitch. So - the GM needs to go out and get pitchers that can take innings from Stanek and Montero and Martinez. Kendall Graveman is out there and a number of others.
1) He had to pitch ALL those guys anyway after Montero blew the game as usual. In fact, they had to eat up MORE innings. 2) There’s zero excuse for not pulling him after hitting Mookie and giving up the double to Freeman if you want to use that argument. 3) Who’s supposed to replace Montero? I’m not sure when you say GM if you’re blaming Brown but what’s he supposed to do? His boss is the one who gave Montero all that money… 4) What the hell are you talking about regarding our “starters not giving Dusty enough length”?!? We’re 2nd in the MLB in total innings by starters and innings per start. We REGULARLY have all five guys at least pitching into the 6th…you act like it’s 2010 prior to the shift in strategy with bullpens and limiting third times through the lineup. Edit: You can’t tell me this team wouldn’t be in a better situation right now had we let Dusty go and brought back Click. I guarantee Montero wouldn’t have gotten that contract from Click and we’d have a better manager by default.
True, now let Crane call Dusty and Espada in the office and tell Dusty we aren't going to fire you, but Espada will be making all in game decisions and lineup calls . Then Crane needs to admit his mistakes and tell Brown to go out and get Chapman, Barlow and Lynn. While he's at it get Bellinger too. The cost shouldn't cost more than 2 or 3 top 15 guys and some single A guys. A guy like Whitcomb should land Lynn. Leon should land Bellinger. Dirden lands Chapman, Lee lands Barlow. I know there will need to be pitchers and other players added but this should be about the cost to make this team Dusty proof.
Luckily Corey Julks wasn’t on the playoff roster. He’d have been in CF instead of Chas. Before anyone attacks I’m mostly joking FYI.
