Why would you (a) bring a guy up who can't hit and (B) insert him into the lineup and (c) put him high in the lineup WTAF are we doing here???
I actually applaude the Madris move. I agree he is an underwhelming choice, but he was likely the best of what was available. This team has a .683 OPS vs RH starting pitchers and .814 vs LH. RH Astros hitters have .687 while the lefties aren't. 804 vs right handed pitching. Julks, Dubon, Meyers, Pena, Abreu, Maldonado, and Kessinger are all below MLB avg vs RHP Madris actually had an OPS of over .900 vs RHP at Sugar Land. At least they weren't just doing the same thing over again expecting improvement.
But they took out the guy that is hitting in the high 700s against righties so he could play. LOL. Baker does other stupid things expecting different results.
Captain Bligh also has a home OPS of .501 in a league with launching pads on the road Singleton went 2-3 with a 2B and HR and 3 walks yesterday in Salt Lake, btw
Postseason Dusty has been impeccable. Regular Season Dusty has been head-scratchingly "huh" for what, 3+ years now? It's very difficult for me to incorporate these 2 things into one opinion.
If the players start playing better and they still lose games, then it's on him some. He can't make them hit and pitch and field properly. No coach can. Doesn't absolve him from bad decisions, but it's not all on him.
Definitely not ALL on him But a lot of managers would get a LOT more out of the talent we have Altuve was off Thursday and off tomorrow and Dusty keeps with his Altuve don’t play Sunday gig anyway. Jose has had some hot games recently and the only one who can cool him off is dusty
I will say, the main job of a manager is to put his players in a position to have the most success, and Dusty too often does not do that.
It's the manager job to use what resources he has available for the success of the team. Poor lineups, not pulling pitchers when they need to be pulled, playing underperforming favorites when there are better options. Those are small things that add up to 5-7 losses that could have been wins. That's the difference between where we are now and giving Arlington something to worry about.
It’s not hard to incorporate if you believe Nook that essentially they let him engage in what’ve er nonsense he wants during her regular season and then put him in a straight jacket in the post season. That’s always been my working theory.
@Nook? That guy's trouble. I'd tread carefully if I were you. For the first time in forever an ice cream truck just rolled through the neighborhood, I heard the jingle. So I walked over, amongst 8 kids, asked if he had any weed, and bought an ice cream sammich instead.
At this point Dusty is just giving us the big F U. WTF would you put Montero in without at least a 9 run lead. ****ing pathetic.
