My only postilion is Silas was trash coach. Made everyone on earth hate KPJ, Jalen and Bari because of his dumb decisions.

You can learn from losing sure but only when you have the resources and roster to do so. Which aren’t true. When the rockets once again struggle to win 25 games, what is something folks will
learn with ime? Yeah that the same problems are still in place and he’s no magician

^ this. Shook's comments are measured. Not just piling on a head coach because HC is an easy target.

There are two major happened during the 3 years.

Year 1 - with WoW (Wall, Oladipo, Wood), team tried to win but failed at that. Blame goes several ways: players, covid, but also on the coach. Covid impacted other teams too. More so with teams who had players who were anti-vaxx.

Year 2 -3 - Fan base expecting losing (like year 1), but at least get some good data out of it. The evaluation got messed up because lot players not being put in the spots.

For someone (Silas), who claimed to read through analytics and combs through data, he sure isn't very good at interpreting and applying data. We see this with people at work, where for basic stuff they can do, some analytical stuff they just don't have it (very tough to learn), no matter how long they've been at the job., and in the end comes to you for the answers.

We're not even counting the lack of disciplines to the players or standing up to the GM (mandate to play KPJ), if it conflicted with his own vision.

My only regret is maybe we (fans) shouldn't have pushed Abdulfattah too soon, because he sank with the Silas ship.

p.s. We don't all dislike Rocket's former coaches. Rudy is beloved. Most have fond memories of Adleman. I have a soft spot for JVG. Even the past Rocket assistant/vipers coaches Bickerstaff/Finch/Nurse/Tibs, whose head coaching pedigree are at least respected.

sigh. TALENT and POTENTIAL is your only resource when the team sucks. It's really up to the coach to coach that resource.

Silas would try his hardest to not play Sengun or bench His best talent (Jalen/KPJ/Sengun/Bari) all at the same time for a Nix run lineup of players that can't make plays.

It's so baffling when you think back on all this ish Silas was doing for no reason.

Again, Silas was so bad everyone thinks the Rockets have no talent.

A coach will always be as good as the roster he’s working with. That will never ever change

What’s so bad is the dishonestly and illusion that you create for yourself. But yeah you’ll get a reality check soon enough. Keep that same energy with yet another 20 win season

i feel like this is Silas greatest F you to this franchise. We really have no idea what anyone can really do. because he was fighting so hard to fit everyone into his Luka/Harden offense. we learned very little from the Rockets losing.

What a stupid reference. Having butler and bam two legitimate stars well that says it all

Now who's being delusional? Saying Spo had enough players to get to the FINALS, lol okay. the amount of coaching Spo had to do because all he had was Butler and Bam was wild and a master class of coaching.

In the same breath say Silas didn't have enough to show he was a competent coach (not a winning coach just competent) when you have Jalen and Sengun on the roster. okay. we done. youre just arguing to argue now.

oh you mean the Miami heat didn’t go to the finals before with butler and bam? Strange. Pretty sure that happened which proves he can make a final run with them. But but not enough. No you’re just delusional as your usual self

And I'll preface this and it's been said many others prior. By most accounts of people who dealt with Silas in the Rockets Org. Everyone says he's very pleasant to deal with. He gives long answers to the media, and just a nice guy overall. So as a person, I genuinely wish him nothing but the best.

The criticism is not on his character; but the work (coaching); the product on the court.

We know we were going to lose, I very early on had voted <24 wins poll prediction during year 2; but I still watch the games to see what improvements were. Did the players improve. Yes, but not at the rate I think everyone wanted. Was it too much to ask to have Green at least in the running #3 / #4 for ROTY consideration? Or Jabari in the running for ROTY #3 or 4.... they were so distant in league consideration that was just disheartening.

Is it on the players: YES, but a lot of it was on Silas.

Cheers to Ime, hopefully brighter days are ahead.

bro, do you not understand that bubble Miami team was a better team than the one they had this year? that was Herro's break out performance. Miami was so injured in 2023 playoffs they had to dust off Duncan who was sent to the shadow realm and were playing cast offs because they were hemorrhaging players.

Okay I didn't mean to derail this thread. I apologize. this is it because i know yolo can go on forever.

They're trying to convince you that Silas wasn't a bad ****ing horrible coach that of course was done purposely. That's wild.

YOLO, larsv8 and SamFisher are all basically claiming that our team is terrible and that we would have sucked just as much with any other coach.

But that's wrong. We do have talented players. Silas kept playing Nix, for instance. He created zero accountability. Players maybe liked him as a person, but they didn't respect him.

Would we still have had a losing record under a different coach? Most likely.

    But he had no plan.

Nah it isn’t. Can’t wait ti I hear the next cop outs and scapegoats on another 20 win year. I remember folks trying to act like pop was doing it right. Spurs were being competitive blah blah blah. Then not only did they end up with a shitty record they set record for worst losses in pop’s career. A number of y’all don’t actually understand what the core issue and reasons why the rockets don’t win. Y’all just try to find the cliche and easiest cop out
