He shouldn’t be judged on who he let go, but how the team performs going forward. Every GM is going to mess up a couple of times in their tenure. Morey and Dawson certainly did, but they were judged to be great GM’s (not justified for Morey). If KJM blows up, but he brought in a couple of vets that helped the TEAM get better he should be applauded. This re-build is not over. We will see an improvement this year, maybe even a run at the play-in, but we won’t be real contenders for 2-3 years.
With the Wolves committing to Naz Reid with an extension, maybe KAT could be available? Worth giving up some cap space and picks?
The person I hope we keep on to the most is Garuba. I think a player like him--who plays the right way, always hustles, knows how to pass, and even showed last year he can hit wide open threes--could really fit in an Udoka system, like a Robert Williams with more offense and a bit less defense due to his diminished jumping ability. The player I hope we give another shot to after that is Ty Ty. He feels like a future high value backup PG, like a Tyus Jones with size. Depending on how this offseason goes, it's looking like Amen Thompson will become the backup PG, with our highest priority free agent becoming the starting PG. I bet it's going to be van Vleet. Either way, however, you still hold onto Ty Ty as the 3rd string point. KPJ is going to be either the starting 3 or 6th man off the bench, if we keep him. I would keep Ty Ty over KPJ if push came to shove and we could get positive value for KPJ.
I doubt Christopher becomes a star. Hell, I doubt anyone of this roster becomes one honestly. I get what you're saying in terms of cleaning up the roster. Too many guys the same size, age, and position who need development. ts not the point of do they make a trade, its more when and for who.
He's just someone who can make plays at the high school level. He's not a pg anymore than KPJ is a pg

Didn't all players come to the NBA from HS (to NCAA)? Isn't making plays part of the game on all levels which start from at least junior high level? What else data would you have to base Amen playmaking from besides HS since he hasn't played a minute of NCAA/NBA ball? KPJ is a bona fide scorer/chucker mentality, who can create for others but looks to score based on his natural game n ability Whereas Amen wants to do opposite and assist hunt or finish at the rim/in lane, which is his strengths Amen is a lot more Rondo/Kidd than he is Jordan/R Allen And all those players started with making plays at HS level before going to the next two levels and doing the same, but they all developed differently once they got to the NBA
When and at what positions are all these guys gonna play? Consolidation trade is a must. There just arent' enough roster spots, let alone minutes.
It is premature to pretend to know which veterans the Rockets could sign so I would talk again after Free agency. I think Kenyon Martin will be up for trade. But other than that, I would cling on to Garuba at least for now. Tate is a decent guy, a cheap option, just because Silas did not play him, does not mean Udoka would not play him.
Its okay to assume that's the case, and it still remains that Thompson game is more Rondo/Kidd (PG) or PointForward than a SG Playing high level (or any level of college or pro or HS or no ball) ball should make it even easier to see something that simple
