Yeah, the playoffs have caused me to rethink JG's long-term viability due to his weight (i.e., lack of strength), but if he's *still* packing on muscle and weight...forget that. I'd actually be pretty impressed with that dedication, especially if he's still super quick and athletic. I think a lot of young prospects stick close to their draft weight (maybe +10lbs or so), which is what I feared JG would do, but maybe he's an outlier.
Meh. Doesn't account for degree of difficulty. I'd argue Jalen's misses come from hard-to-make attempts. Tari, on the other hand, seems to be allergic to bunnies. Most of his makes at the rim are put-backs of his own misses.
They bump him because they know the zebras wouldn't blow the whistle. While he increased his FTAs. There should have been 2 or 3 more FTAs to his total. At the other end, they don't allow you to play defense like opponents play 'defense' on JG. That's all I have to say about that.
A useless stat: If the top of the rankings is just big men who get spoonfed looks at the rim, then this is always going to disproportionately have guards at the bottom. Like LaMelo is one of the best young dribble drivers in the league. Is Rob Will MJ like in his dribble penetration?
Matches the eye test, he was just begging to be bailed out with a whistle half of the time but at least he didn't get blocked quite as often as his rookie season.
He has to improve on this, but much of it is because he was forcing his way to the line, never had a 5-out rotation and not yet strong enough to finish - which is a good problem to have. Hopefully some added muscle, spacing and coaching will alleviate this issue.
