https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...ts-nba-free-agency-shopping-list-18161570.php feigens list is much bigger than the reports have been so far and doesn’t mention FVV as a target beyond “media reports.”
Thanks! I want poeltl over Lopez simply because of age but does he provide the same kind of roster flexibility that Lopez provides??
I don't care if they are big names or not. I'm just looking forward to getting some decent vets out there. I personally like the lesser known player vibe. They many times will play harder because the spotlight, expectation and opportunity is on them
Terrible list. Trade KPJ for Tyus Jones. Sign Brook Lopez to back up Sengun. Sign one or two shooters. Maybe Beverley. Done.
That’s who they want to spend their money on? Trying to improve to mediocity? Maybe Lopez and Johnson are ok from that list
That’s who they want to spend their money on? Trying to improve to mediocity? Maybe Lopez and Johnson are ok from that pathetic FA list.
The theme I sense from these selections is "guys who can play off the ball". Interesting change in direction from all the talk about Harden, Kyrie, FVV etc.
I think I'd favor vets that can lead from the bench so the young guys can play. Beverley fits, or maybe someone like George Hill? He has the SA connection with Udoka. Plumlee would be a fine vet backup center. Maybe Crowder as well.
Of the two, Jabari is more likely to get bumped from starting than Sengun, or move down to the three spot. We know Ime likes him some two bigs lineups.
Who else would you spend those money on? Big name players don’t hit FA market anymore. Rockets don’t really have much choice.
Great list, save Dillon & Clarkson. I think we can do a lot with our trade capital too. Hope we don’t really on overpaying for dumb / over the hill players just because we can. FVV is decent tho and I don’t mind overpaying for Lopez, Cam Johnson and or Bruce Brown. But with our BK picks, some young guys, we should be in the market for some trades!
Slighly off-topic, but I think it's hard to recruit good veteran role players and have them be dialed in, despite knowing that the team isn't going to be very good. That's probably why the Rockets wanted to keep Eric Gordon around for as long as they could. Hiring Udoka was a good move in that respect, because he might be able to convince free agents that Houston has a long-term plan toward contention in place.
