Dusty letting Maldy bat in the 8th down by one run is inexcusable. I don’t care that he got on base. That’s just terrible managing. How about Meyers? Or even Abreu? Dusty doesn’t seem to understand how double switches work so maybe that had something to do with it. Every other manager in MLB would have used a pinch hitter. I just hope Dusty’s reaction isn’t to bench Diaz just in case he’s needed in a similar situation. I’d love to hear Dusty’s idiotic logic on that one…
i'm just hoping for this team to get hot in september and october (highly unlikely) because this team just doesn't have it during regular season.
Even with yordan this team needs a bat asap. But starting to look like a lost season. Hopefully I’m eating my words come October but I just don’t see it.
With the poor offseason, injuries, and tougher division, we can't afford playing Maldy 120 games. The easiest, most basic, most logically, most quickest upgrade the Astros can do is catching Diaz. Julks/Meyers/Chas playing DH sounds beautiful if Maldy is sitting on the bench. The pitching surrendered 3 runs yesterday and we still lost
There will be a mutiny when Madris will be in, Chas sits, DIaz catches, Kessinger plays 3B, and Julks in LF. This might not be the exact lineup, but I expect something close to it the next time Diaz catches.
They already announced during the broadcast yesterday that Madris will be in tonight… because again, lineups are pre-planned as much as anything else on this team or in regular season baseball (6 man rotation, people who get skipped on the off day, bullpen usage, etc.).
Could care less about the mutiny. I’d like to see him play 1B and get another left handed batter in the lineup
Pena has had one RBI since 5/29. 1 RBI in about a month. That plus his egregious errors. He's been a huge part of the problem.
Oh smfh I am sick of Maldonado. I don't understand why this one guy is more important than winning games.
