We have all these guys still developing. Too many to develop at once, we don't have the playing time. Now Stone has to decide, and THIS is much harder than drafting. Whom does he keep and whom does he dump? In no particular order these are all guys developing. 1. Green -21 2. Bari -19 3. Amen -20 4. Cam -19 5. KPJ -23 6. Sengun -21 7. Eason -22 8. KMJ -23 9. Christopher -21 10. Garuba -21 11. TyTy - 21 And that is not including Nix at 21, or Days at 22....... I mean we have 13 players that need playing time, and Tate who no longer fits.....to me, Ime needs a couple of weeks at training camp to decide who is ready to play, who can be put in the gleague to develop and whom to jettison for future comp or veterans.... The Draft was GREAT - but that is the easiest thing to do, now comes the hard work. DD
Are you saying it DIDN'T deserve it's own thread? Isn't that the opposite of your schtick? Or has time changed you since we last engaged in the GARM Lol
I am saying that drafting has been the easy part, now keeping the RIGHT combination and clearing space for them is the hardest part and if he chooses wrongly, he will be fired. Let's say, he gives up Christopher and he becomes a star - that gets him fired....he needs to pick the RIGHT players to keep and the RIGHT ones to move along.... We just have a stacked roster of under 23 year olds.....and I don't believe they have enough information to make a good call YET.....let's find out what Ime can do with these guys and let him choose whom he wants..... DD
Martin & Tate can, might and probably should be traded. Nix should be cut, obviously...Days I don't count. That leaves: 8 youngsters who can all earn playing time, though 2 very raw talents of which 1 in Cam will unlikely see the court until next year. KPJ & TyTy battle with Amen for (back-up) PG duties, though Amen in the G-League is most likely. Green starts, so Jaygup is back-up as of now. Jabari, Eason, Sengun & Garuba minutes at the 3/4/5. I don't see the big deal, but yeah at least 2 should be traded for a vet or future pick.
Can't worry about if our fringe starters/ role players become starters for other teams.. Ship their asses out if you can get quality , impactful players in return.. Wait too long and you're gonna have gripey entitled youngins running amuck.. Can't let the inmates run the asylum. Word to Bob!
The only worry is if you ship out players that are BETTER than the one's you keep, that gets you fired and holds the org back. DD
Its pretty clear that tate is gone and kmj unless he agrees to a friendly deal. I actually think kpj will be traded in the right deal
LOL Not getting fired for trading Josh Christopher or Jae’Sean Tate or Kenyon Martin Jr. or Daishen Nix or Usman Garuba or TyTy Washington. Yes, they have a lot of young guys. Some will be moved out, (some may even have nice careers or show more than what they’ve shown here), veterans will be brought in. “He needs to choose the right ones to keep.” … Yeah, no kidding. “Keep the goodest bestest ones! Trade the badest turrible ones! YEAAHH!” Was Morey fired for letting Covington go (the very first time, before he blew up)? Was Morey fired for letting Lin go (the very first time, before he blew up)? I also remember the days he would “regret” cutting/trading Gary Clark, Troy Daniels, Andrew Goudelock, Mason Jones, Nick Johnson, Scott Machado, KJ McDaniels, Terrence Williams, Zhou Qi, Trevelin Queen, Jermaine Taylor, James “Flight” White and Kyle Wiltjer. “You will live to regret this!”
Again , can't worry about that if you have a few guys that look to be future stars taking up the minutes of the guys you're alluding to..
