He doesn't have too many PAs yet so his max EV in a month or 2 may be a lot higher than it now. His 95th Percentile EV so far would be ~84th (edited from 87) percentile last year.
Are you calculating 95th percentile EV through the search function on Savant, or is there a leaderboard of this stat available somewhere?
Salazar was never utilized according to plan. Dusty was supposed to use the 3rd catcher to open up playing time for Diaz. He didn’t. Only a wasted roster spot because Dusty made it so. Diaz should have been getting a lot more playing time in april and may (and the first part of june).
There is a leaderboard for last year that I googled. On baseball savant, I used Yainer Diaz's EV data to calculate his 95th percentile (he has 100 batted balls so it was pretty easy).

I guess you don't understand the concept of easing a rookie into the lineup instead of throwing him to the wolves? Maldy allowed the Astros to gradually throw more things at Diaz. By not putting all the pressure on him at once, it allowed him to get comfortable.
It's literally insane that this doesn't happen, especially on a team that is so underachieving. It's like we want to be bad/stupid.
Probably because Dusty is actually on record in news conferences and pregames saying he has a problem with it. Probably. I'm just spit balling there though.
Considering Diaz has only caught 4 more games than Korey Lee did last year, I call BS. It has nothing to do with easing Diaz into it. It has everything to do with Dusty puting people in his dog house. Chas is still in Baker's doghouse for stuff he did last year.
Who knows why Dusty puts people in his doghouse, but Nook has stated it. There is very little logic in a lot of things he does like playing Julks all the time when our team needs offense and he's one of the worst hitters on the team, an old prospect, and has no pedigree. Or why he bats Abreu cleanup when he's been horrible. Or why Chas doesn't play more when he's consistently outperformed other options including Myles Straw who had to be traded away so Chas could play more.
So, you have no proof of said Doghouse for Diaz. Making **** up. Chas is a .249 hitter. His OB% is higher than Julks because of Walks, but Julks has a higher avg., more RBIs and runs scored. It is not like Chas is a world-beater. He is hitting .164 on the road. Meyers is the one that needs time off.
100% with you that Meyers needs a break right now. But as for the Julks v Chas thing, Chas was out for almost a month. In relation to the RBI comparison, Julks has a whopping 4 more than Chas with 54 more plate appearances. Julks has come up with 120 runners on base (knocking in 19) and Chas has come up with 84 runners on base (knocking in 14). I would certainly hope Julks has more RBI considering the 54 extra PA he has and the extra 36 extra base runners. It's kind of sad he only has 4 more.
Yainer Diaz is a .280 30 HR 100 RBI Dusty Baker should play Yainer everyday. 1B/DH/ C at the 5 Spot in the Lineup
Dusty says all sorts of nonsensical stuff that contradicts what he does. You don't believe most of it, but you believe it in this case?
