how do you feel about his A/T and his assist percentage? Those are the big knocks I have seen on Whitmore other than his slow release on his shots
Where’s this slow release on shots claim coming from. There’s literally nothing wrong with his jump shot release lol. In fact his jump shot is beautiful and damn near textbook https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cs4mjzGgopo/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cs7NRVOg-zm/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
From Vecenie's draft guide: From Spinella: Spinella and Stone Hansen talking about it with video: https://theswishtheory.com/scouting-reports/cam-whitmore/ I could probably find others saying something similar, but guessing you get the idea. To be clear, his shot itself seems pretty good, but a number of people are concerned about the slow release. It is definitely a thing.
Oh, a little mild slander? What did I make up? Speaking of which, the Thompson twins didn't do the combine. You can disagree with my post but don't make up crap. nba.com/stats/draft/combine-strength-agility
Cite one thing I've made up. Oh, is it just that you didn't read the post carefully? Man, I even put a conjunction in there so it was really clear. I'll make it bold so it's really easy to read. Clarity is my only agenda and I'm happy to help you out. Heck, I'll even copy it for you and explain it to save you the time of unlocking the code. "When a guy flunks both age and shooting? Well, he's probably trash unless he: has at least 'good' positional size is among the best athletes at his position, and has great stats against high-level competition so the stats/data is meaningful)." I'm saying, a guy who is old and can't shoot is likely going to be trash unless he has the four listed qualities. Is this not crystal clear? Well, at least two of you didn't understand so maybe it wasn't clear enough. The twins check off 1 and 2, not 3 and 4. That's it. Agenda satisfied.
I think the biggest issue with Whitmore are the trex arms and small hands, I don't see the issue with tunnel vision and game sense given how young he currently is. However I'm also thinking what if Whitmore transitions to SG doesn't those get addressed? At 6'7 suddenly he becomes a jumbo guard and his 6'9 wingspan and handsize are suddenly average for the position. Still doesn't make him a good fit for the Rox but I see him blowing up on other teams and CF having a collective meltdown as usual.
Yeah, but their responses were so bad do they even count? Seriously though, I welcome thoughtful criticism, yours or anyone's. I'm not here to win something. Just chatting. But the ad hominem from those two is poor form. [QUOTEMaybe the sample size is too small to study that large of a gap within the same class.[/QUOTE] Yeah, I had this problem a few years ago when I wanted to test my theory that athletic bigs with short arms should be seen as huge health risks. But there's just so little data, it's impossible for an outsider. Maybe teams could do it. As for age, it can be studied but it's tough and time-consuming. Even agreeing on criteria and quality metrics is complicated. I only ever do a "study" far enough to show something so I can give it to my stats friend and urge him to do a real study. It's a good example as it well illustrates the point. It's why I think age should be seen as something very big, like shooting ability but not as significant, for example, as quickness—and maybe bball-IQ.
There was no conjunction and you literally just added the "and" between points 2&3, are you kidding me right now? And also you in the paragraph after that questioned whether they are really that good of athletes because the quickness of their competition isn't NBA level, so don't backtrack now and just claim you said something different, in that arrogant sh** tone. Your points are not really making as much sense as you apparently seem to think and are so vocal about. Amen's per 36mpg stats are: 20.8ppg, 8.2rpg, 7.9apg, 3.1spg, 1.0bpg and 60.8 ts%, so even if you now go with the "I separated points 1-2 and 3-4" lie that you just made up despite everyone being able to view your original post, you are wrong on point 3 too. And regarding point 4, that point isn't as hot as you think either, when seeing how most ncaa games outside of March Madness aren't against elite competition either and that the Thompson twins also did well in several games against International teams with more mature opponents.
Yeah, Nate Duncan was talking about this, short arms and not a quick jumper—though yes, powerful. Between the dimensions, the passing (more important), and everyone saying he lacks a feel for the game, I need to go check out the discussion about my current favorite prospect: Black.
Gotta get to sleep, I'll read past the first sentence tomorrow. In the meantime, you can go back to my original post to see that "and" was in there from the start. Then you will realize that all I did was make it bold when I reposted because you missed it the first time. And the second time. A third time? We shall see. You know what, I'm an optimist, I bet when I look tomorrow I'm going to see that the rest of your message was just brilliant. Nice job!
I admit reading back I missed it due to my mobile or you formatting it different than in your last post, so maybe now we can get past this and to the actual content that's still wrong. And regarding formatting or making your message clear, maybe it would help if you didn't use a point 1-4 system that you then try to dissect in the middle intersect with a poorly formatted "', and", while also apparently your #3 and #4 not even being separate points, but you still inexplicably using this point format. Also doesn't change that you in the paragraph after your points explicitly questioned their athleticism.
I think I would take a chance on the insanely athletic and gifted 6 foot 7 point guard that actually play defense .. seems like he has the mentality to work hard on his shot . Whitmore just doesn’t scream 4th pick in the draft to me ….
When somebody gives you a detailed high-effort reply that exactly answers your question and you just reply "It's nonsense" it doesn't exactly endear you to anyone, y'know
The guard with the same 3fg% as Ausar, who you said can't shoot and will be trash? Fun fact, did you know that Black regressed with his shooting all season and only shot 26% on 3s in 2023, 20% in his final month and 1/6 in march madness , while for example Amen shot 30% in the playoffs and Ausar 38.4%? I wanted to go into more detail but then saw a post where you say you don't even watch college or developmental basketball, so not sure there's a point in this.
I cooled off quite a bit on this kid. He may be one of those "coach blood-pressure triggers" like T-Will
https://theathletic.com/4624411/202...g-board-no-5-pick-prediction-possible-trades/ “Per league sources, Hendricks was impressive in his workout and interview, the Thompson Twins were good, too, but Whitmore left Pistons brass wanting a little bit more.” Has the Pistons taking Ausar.
Anyone looking at Whitmore’s jump shot today and knows what their looking at in no way would call it some slow release. It’s literally stupid. https://instagram.com/stories/cbrickley603/3129765566030719204?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== https://instagram.com/stories/cbrickley603/3129765770519816206?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Once again a beautiful release and near textbook shot. I don’t need to go into some detail for something literally so basic. And you trying to be some post police. Comedy. Most of you don’t even know the vid posted with melo is him literally at like 16 years old
