I honestly am looking forward to less volatile political times - a lot of serious problems in this country are not being addressed because we are fighting over whether a penis can fit in a woman's bathing suit, or whether it's offensive that a June-tenth add having white people on it is racist or offensive. There is a lot of middle ground that isn't even being discussed that is rotting this country.
If that is the actual wording, then he lied and should be held accountable. I would say that "addicted" is hard to define, but he is certainly a "user" and should have known what the question intended.
You act like when democrats had control of congress they didn't fundamentally change this country. They cut poverty in half and put more folks on health insurance than at any time in history....then the ukr war happened and everything went to **** with energy prices.
If he wasn't part of the elite DC crowd, he likely never would have been investigated - then again, he also never would have had the opportunities that he had to make the money that he has. Meatball Ron needs to be careful, his name has been connected to corruption allegations from those within his own party.
What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? I didn't say anything about Biden or the Democrats. I said I want a return to the parties being more connected on common ground and less fighting over issues that mean little in the long term. That will require a change in the political atmosphere that doesn't exist right now. I don't support 95% of the Republicans in office right now and about 50% of the Democrats that are in office.
Yeah, IF there is a pattern. This plea is not part of any pattern connecting to Joe. Hunter was a troubled drug addict. His guilty pleas don't surprise me. It sounds like he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors for not paying taxes in a timely manner (I didn't know this was even a crime; I always assumed it only resulted in financial penalties and interest, so there must be something more than just not paying it on time, right?). He didn't plead to lying on a gun purchase application (which technically is a crime, but one that is often not prosecuted on its own, but as a way to get a criminal after some other criminal offense). Instead, it's a suspended charge that will be dropped if he complies with the terms (2-year probation). Connection to Joe? Other than the moon being made of cheese, there has been nothing. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/...eds-to-resolve-tax-issues-gun-charge-00102637 Under the plea agreement, he will plead guilty to the two misdemeanors covering his failure to pay his federal taxes from 2017 and 2018, but will not be required to plead guilty to the gun charge. Instead, the charge will remain pending while he proceeds through the diversion program. If he complies with the terms of that program, prosecutors will drop the charge.
The question seems more than that. But the answer of "NO" might be argued as, I'm no longer an unlawful user of.... addicted to..." He responded “no” to a question on the background-check questionnaire that asks, “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, mar1juana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?” Five years earlier, he had been discharged from the Navy Reserve after testing positive for cocaine. In his book, Hunter Biden candidly acknowledged his history of drug use and his family’s repeated efforts to get him into treatment.
No offense taken. I just don't get how you think you are so wired in that you know that Biden was without wrongdoing. Wouldn't it be easier to just let the investigations play out rather than proclaim so loudly (and obnoxiously) that he wasn't "the big guy"?
here's where "Hunter Biden's laptop™" comes to the rescue: Hunter Biden begged Hallie for cash to go to rehab before gun buy https://nypost.com/2022/10/08/hunter-biden-begged-hallie-for-cash-to-go-to-rehab-before-gun-buy/ excerpt: Photos and videos of Hunter Biden sleeping with a crack pipe sticking out of his mouth were taken a month later on Oct 4. 2018 — just eight days before his gun purchase at a Delaware shop. Lying on a federal gun purchase form is a felony, with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. Legal experts said that may be the least of Hunter’s worries. more at the link
Yep, the relevance here is that there was a crime (shooting a teacher) that led the prosecutor to use lying on an application to prosecute her. If there was not that crime, she probably would never be charged.
You'd love leftist media then. They spend hours talking about how to volunteer at homeless encampments and the evils of real estate developers.
actually, the second weapons violation was when the handgun got thrown in the trash dumpster by the high school . . . probably the more serious of the two violations
that's fine, but the President's son gets to plead out of that felony charge in exchange for agreeing to go to gun-rehab camp . . . while Deja Taylor gets the full Monty
cool and all, but I'm still on this ship: ps. in case that's confusing, things on that laptop cannot be trusted fully because it has lost it's root of trust
Thank the media. 24 hour news cycle and sensationalism (violence, racism, sexuality, gender, corruption, controversy) which gets people all worked up drives clicks. The Media is never introspective about this though... hey... maybe it's us driving the national narrative and deciding what "news" to focus on and how we portray events.... no, no, it's not us.
