The current active roster is not a playoff team.

Altuve apparently needs 2 rest days per week following the injuries.
Brantley is not coming back this year.
Urquidy probably not back until post all star break.
Yordan out until all star break.

The margin for error is pretty slim most nights as is, and DB is throwing Julks out there like a bonafide starter. Dubon is not actually a good hitter. Stop with that BS. But he's the best option most nights right now out of a lot of **** options. Diaz doesn't play enough.

Just a lot of the same issues that many of us have been pointing out all season that are finally coming back to roost. I'll be shocked if we take more than 4 games over the next 13, and we'll be sitting at 43-42 on July 4th. Yordan coming back can fix a lot of wounds, and of course this team can flip the script, but unfortunately I don't see a clear avenue out of this.

It makes me ****ing sick to see this team so horribly managed and playing like ****. I realized Dusty is great with players and blah blah blah, but at what point does in game managing and tactical decision making actually ****ing matter?

Dusty pressing all the wrong button. Only a sleepy manager would let Blanco pitched more than he should and JP France. Then just let C.Javier implode with a 4 run lead. And let Maton get his ERA ballooned pitching in extra innings. Currently, on the active roster, we should have 0 All-Stars for the All-Star game. Who is managing the All-Star game? Luckily, Dusty had a bulletproof bullpen in the postseason, or we'd be back to 1.

Lunhow built a championship team. Nobody is perfect and you certainly can’t fault him for Martinez, that dude had ample time to put it together here and did not. Nobody foresaw his incredibly rare turnaround coming.

Let me say it again…. Lunhow built an amazing thing that had never existed here. To in any way insinuate that his handling of Martinez or Hader was the reason for the decline now is just silly.

Altuve already pinch-hit in the eighth inning.

JD would have helped us in to 2015 in the playoffs. His arbitration years ended in 2017 and we would have lost him after because we don't offer big contracts. If we did, we would have offered him the year he went to Boston.

There’s a reason why teams don’t go on runs like this anymore. There’s still time to make a run given the rangers are starting to wobble, but it just doesn’t seem like this team has enough. And if we’re going to rely on trades it needs to start happening soon, not until after the break. I would have been satisfied keeping the ALCS streak going

Baker has lost us about 4-6 games this season. We would be near top of the division if it weren't for his goofiness.

I sad it yesterday, I'll say it today - France, Bielak, and Blanco need to be limited to twice through the order.

    Yesterday Bielak 3rd time:
    Ground out ( end 5th)
    Single - scored
    Ground out
    Ground out
    Walk - scored
    Walk

    Today Blanco 3rd time:
    Flyout ( end 5th)
    Single - scored
    Strikeout
    Single - scored
    Single - thrown out
    Homerun - scored.

    12 plate appearances.
    5 outs
    5 hits
    2 walks
    .583 ob%
    .800 slg
    1.383 ops
    5 runs against

    FTR: France Friday
    Ground out
    Strikeout
    Line out ( end 6th)
    Ground out
    Homerun - scored
    Walk - scored
    Pop out
    Double

    8 PA - .375 ob% .857 slg = 1.232 ops

Dusty kept Dusty in for the 6th because he was pitching a shutout and the bullpen was a bit tired. It worked.

No way he should have kept gambling, but had to know with onlyva 1 run lead he needed to be pulled at the first sign of trouble.

Ball 6' over the zone?!? I'm swinging mother****er (he looooves to hit high pitches when he hits them)

1st pitch, GIDP? Don't care. I'm swinging again next time.

He should be the starting catcher 4 games a week, DH the others.

I need Dusty supporters to go back and look at all his previous stints as manager. He had a very long history of mismanaging teams and wearing out his welcome. He’s as stubborn as it gets. Its his way or the highway.

Exactly true. The Vlad Guerrero ( Sr.) Approach to hitting.

Every once I'm a while someone comes along who is just such a gifted hitter that they can be special.

But with more discipline they can be Ted Williams, legendary.

95% of them manage to have a few highlights and solid numbers before pitchers adjust to them and then they fade away.

Injuries and underperformance are piling up and catching up, you can only make do for so long. So many things broke right last year. The team stayed pretty damn healthy for the most part, and other than Yuli, guys that were expected to perform, did. Guys we didn't expect to perform (Montero, Abreu), did.

I wasn't on CF the day Baker had Julks batting lead off, but man I can only imagine how nuclear this thread got.

    THIS.

I want moar too but if not last year is so SPECIAL for multiple reasons.

No one can take that away.

If ee don’t win again this year- doesn’t mean we can’t put together a serious run and win next year or year after.
