Been watching Invasion on Apple+. The premise is seeing characters from different areas of the world and how they react to this alien invasion. It's sort of a slow burn and my wife tuned out because she said it was too much of a soap opera, which it really is. It could use about 50% less time on drama scenes. I do like it, though, I just tend to ffw through some of the more tedious back and forth. Not thread-worthy but well done, cinematography is gorgeous and it's a decent watch if you're lacking for something to do.

I enjoyed it. I know the WGA strike has messed everything up, but are they doing another season, I hope?

    Yep, started filming in January.

IMO one thing all of the Apple+ shows have had in common is great cinematography.

The Bear season 2 was a great watch. A little overly-dramatic with the suspense of things that have to do with building a kitchen but a really, really good season. Got to know more about what each character was going through in their present and past lives while evolving into better people. Overall a fantastic show.

Just finished Jury Duty. Such a fun show. Now starting From (horror show), Blackbird, and Hijack. And after those may try Swagger.

I've been watching The Bear. I made it through season 1 in 5 days. While I don't see the critical acclaim to it, there's a certain intrigue and charm to the characters that you want to see their story play out. It's something I have to binge at a time. If I were watching week to week, I'd probably lose interest.

Fun Facts: The creator is best friends with the owner of the Chicago restaurant it's based on (I believe it's called Mr. Beef)

Of course a bunch is dramatized, but the personal interactions and personal issues, job issues and the innerworkings of the kitchen are about 90+% correct according to my brother and friends who would know.

I haven't started season 2 yet, but soon.

I still recommend this show to anyone. I dont even think it's typically what i would watch. But if you want something different.

Finished season 2 of The Bear. I thought this season was better than the first. I don't know why they label this a comedy. It's a drama that's very character-centric. The vibe I get is similar to Friday Night Lights that has good character-focused stories, but with a lot more focus and less fat because FNL was on network TV.

Also similar to Ted Lasso that has great characters, but The Bear is the depressing version of it.

Started Swagger (AppleTV). Basketball theme, I think they said its from the same people as Friday Night Lights. Enjoyed the first two episodes but even better my wife also seems to like it. Easy going to fill in between Hijack and The Silo.

I watched White House Down for the 1st time on Netflix. 5.3/10. If there is nothing on, it's a good action flick. Think Air Force One but not on a plane.
    My 4 takeaways.

1.) James Woods was not acting.

2.) The tour guide dude was the funniest thing in the movie.

3.) Are the Marilyn Monroe tunnels real? I haven't had time to do my own 'research' on it.

4.) When the president switches his oxford shoes for the Jordan 3 Fire Reds.

Would not watch again but I liked it.

    Special Ops: Lioness

Written by Taylor Sheridan (Sicario). Fantastic show, headlined by Zoe Saldana. Watch it.

Telemarketers on HBO/Max. Only 3 episodes. 1st episode is AMAZING. The 2nd 2 are just a little meh.

Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. Great series! Started binging and got caught up very quickly. Now awaiting new episodes.

Finally getting around to watching 1883 and really enjoying it through 4 episodes. It's much better than Yellowstone. So far there's a coherent plot and interesting characters.

I stopped watching Yellowstone 2-3 eps into the last season. Got way too stale. 1883 is the best one IMO

just finished Season 1 of The Bear. Incredible.
