KPJ was pretty much a model citizen all of last year, but no matter. If he isn't a great point guard he is worthless and not even worth a second draft pick. No second chances for the perfect little ccfans.

It’s just clickbait. Pure unadulterated conjecture.

The most natural way to move KPJ would be in a S&T for Harden, FVV, Reaves, or flat out trade for Holiday, Conley, Paul.

    Porter, Tate for a guard

Package #20 and Martin for a future 1st

And we’d still have roughly 40-50 mill to play with in FA, looking at two of Lopez, Poeltl, Cam, Bruce, G.Williams

Hard to see us moving KPJ without seeing him under Ime first , if we did he must be acting up still

Moving JPJ now is dumb on many fronts. We have invested a lot in him as a player and a person. We also have him on a great contract. His value around the league is low because of his past. If he plays and behaves amazing over the next one to one and a half seasons his trade value could be amazing.

We need to see where this goes.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…. Amen Thompson achieving his median outcome is a great connective piece in a starting lineup with Greennand Porter.

Need New Talent to Fit in the offense of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.

    3 and D Guys needed.

KCP, Brown, Braun, Porter of the Nuggets are the Types of Players. Nuggets Roster is the Best Example.

Michael Jordan is finalizing the sale of the majority ownership of the Charlotte Hornets. Jordan and Mitch Kupchak will still be around to oversee the draft. They want to workout Brandon Miller and Scoot Henderson again. Scoot I hear blew them away not only in the workout but in his interview as well. Charlotte is leaning heavily towards drafting Scoot (remember they played Dennis Smith Jr a lot last year so they're starting guard rotation is not as solidified as many fans outside of Charlotte think, the majority of the Hornet's fanbase wants them to take Scoot). Portland also is leaning towards keeping their pick and not trading it. I think Scoot is gone at #2 and I'm not sure what will happen at #3 but Amen Thompson could be gone at that pick too. Brandon Miller could very will be ours at #4 if the Rockets wanted him. I honestly don't think any of the top 4 lottery teams will trade their picks this year, next year's draft is considered to be very weak.

"dumb on many fronts" is pretty much the primary theme of offseason rumors this year.

Let coach udoka figure out what he has with our roster first, then we will be able to determine who to go after in free agency and trades

@Verbal Christ posted in "Why is KPj the whipping boy ( thread) "
    in post #5834

    -----------------
    KPj
    19.2 points
5.7 APG (averaged 6.2 the previous season)
    5.3 RPG

Players 22 and under to average these numbers:

    - Oscar Robinson
    - Luka Doncic
    - LeBron James
    - LaMelo Ball
    - Michael Jordan
    - Ja Morant
    - Tyreke Evans

    and

    - KPj

    -----------------------
It would be stupid to trade KPj and then he goes on to stardom.

Only an idiot would do that; especially when all he needs is
spacing by way of 3-point shooters around him.

His next team will do this.....and the Rockets will continue to look like
the dumbest team in the league. Can you imagine waiving him and
then he takes off. You'll never live that down. You would be that team
that waived a guy giving you 19 pts, 5.7 asts, 5.3 rebs while being
    only 22 (at the time).

There is a whole ass article full of paragraphs and words, and they try to sneak in one hell of a sentence that looks like it doesn't belong. If you had that type of insider info, that's your entire article. Not silly trade propositions.

Great part about Porter’s contract is it’s not guaranteed after 23-24, essentially making him a good trade piece since it’s like taking on an expiring contract.

I agree. I just think he doesn’t fit into the Rockets rotation with a logjam at the 2. He isn’t a 3 since he’s undersized and Cavs already tried that experiment. If he simplifies his game and accept a lesser role, I think he can be a very good role player/bench guy perhaps with a contender with an established culture and identity. It may take years for him to become this but its a possibility. The time is now to trade him.

Hearing that Harden is not coming back and that KPJ is Udoka’s favorite player. The hate for KPJ is unfounded and we are very lucky to have him as our point guard. He is better than old man Harden and honestly for the cheap contract that he was kind enough to sign, we’re insane to replace him with a 50 million dollar old man who has 1/10th his athleticism. KPJ and TyTy (and Christopher) will be absolutely fine with a real coach and staff developing them. A backcourt of KPJ and Green is the future of this team and they looked fantastic when Lucas temporarily coached them in the upset over Milwaukee last year. KPJ’s only flaw is that he can lapse back into his scary off court antics at any time (drugs, violence, abuse, etc.). If he can stay clean and that’s a BIG IF, then I promise you he’ll be an all-star much sooner than Harden makes it to an NBA Finals.

He’s on a sneaky great contract as both trade bait and upside. You pretty much have to guarantee the contract every year.

Porter can play backup 1. Start at 2 or 3. If Jalen doesn’t rise it may be Porter that is the better option.

Porter is no different than these other guys and that we have to see how it goes with Ime.

KPJ was a cheap reclamation project. Rockets bought low hoping for great returns. They knew exactly what they were getting and the upside attracted them. His value is low because of his past history and erratic play. The Rockets were wise to give him that non guaranteed deal after 23-24. The league is about player market value and likely his agent knew that the demand wasn’t there and accepted the deal. He isn’t a point in this league but If he switches to the 2 and does reasonably well he might garner more interest around the league. But right now there’s too many unknowns and risks.
