Whether we call it “Wuhan virus”, “Chinese virus”, or simply another name is not important from the standpoint of understanding or fighting against it. Everyone knows it spread from China, regardless.

There is nothing new here I can see from this supposed “lab leak theory”. It doesn’t lend credence to the unsubstantiated scientific theory that the virus was a result of artificial genetic manipulation in a lab setting.

It appears that there is quite a bit of conflation going on, by the usual people in media and politics, to claim a satisfying gotcha moment.

 

Yeah it probably was a lab thing gone wrong but at this point why should we care? It happened regardless of how/where it happened.

Stirring this up will do more harm for the future than good. I'm not saying forgive and forget. I'm just say lets move past this.

When someone suggested this to be the case in the other thread, I said never count anything out with governments.Trust no one applies to everything. You should always have an open mind to things.

That still doesn't change how higher ups in this government minimized the threat and even politicized it, while at the same time many of those higher ups were doubling up on vaccinations behind the scenes like they were sour cream enchiladas at Pancho's . They still took the time to mock the virus and the people trying to avoid infecting abuelito.

The next virus, whether engineered in a lab or not, is going to be even more disastrous because of the hypocrisy, pride and arseholes.

The United States should be using every tool at its disposal to investigate the origins of the pandemic. The Biden administration should stop dragging its feet and immediately declassify all the relevant intelligence surrounding COVID-19, as they are legally required to do by June 18. The clock is ticking.”

Earlier this year, the House passed Rep. Gallagher's COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023, which required the Biden administration to declassify intelligence related to any potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the origins of the Covid pandemic.

China will never admit guilt. They should apologize to the world and pay reparations. But their government is pure evil.

Certainly there is a lot more circumstantial evidence that this was a lab leak. It should be noted that politicizing this only acts as a hindrance to finding the actual truth. Was the virus "made" in the lab? Or was it contracted in the field and brought to the lab? Or was it part of the gain of function research or some other research? I am not sure we'll ever have the info available to know for sure.

Blaming Fauci though is a stretch given he didn't authorize or send any money for research to Wuhan. People claiming he did are merely looking for a scapegoat.

 

Democrats have been politicizing it since February 2020. it's a bit rich to suggest exposing the origin and its cover up is somehow politicizing.
