Calling everyone who voted for DeSantis or who doesn't think he is a Nazi a "Nazi supporter" is a pretty broad brush for a very severe allegation, as it catches more than 50% of people in Florida.

I mean DeSantis supporters are now cheering about a policy to forcefully remove children from their parents for ideological purposes.

    That's pretty fascisty

You must have missed the many times people on the left have said Republicans are fascists or semi-fascists, or when our very own communist @fchowd0311 said libertarians are fascists.

American Libertarianism has a lot of fascist elements. Like I said before, a lot of neo-nazis have also waxed lyrical about individual freedoms, freedom of speech. They often attacked American academic institutions of higher learning as autocratic institution that only allows one way of thinking(commie think)

You aren't offending me by calling me a commie. You can give lengthy responses with nuanced reasoning for calling me that and I'll be fine with it. As long as you provide reasonings.

The philosophical concept of "libertarianism" is different from the American Libertarian " live free or die" movement. That specific strain of "libertarianism" is more about maintaining current hierarchies then "freedom". Maintainence of hierarchies often means pushing for lax regulations and lax safety nets.

Another aspect of fascism that make libertarians drawn to it is that fascists believe a "wealth divide" or "wealth inequality" is inherent in a free and healthy society. Society always needs low skilled labor and this ors morally fine to have wealth inequality.

Again, both American Libertarianism and fascism both center around maintaining hierarchical systems.

I don't pay attention to people waxing lyrical about freedom. 90% of the time it's often empty platirdudes. I pay attention to why they attack, what policies they defend etc.

If someone sees fascists everywhere, it might be projection.

    Not really.
That's nice, but libertarianism is not about waxing lyrical about anything, it is about actually supporting individual freedom and limited government.
A stopped watch, etc. Karl Marx was opposed to gun control.
It wasn't intended as insult, my understanding is that you are a self-professed communist (or "radical far-leftist").
Not really. Lax regulations and lax safety nets are freedom. Libertarianism is not concerned with maintaining or overthrowing hierarchies except to the extent that those hierarchies interfere with individual liberty.
Capitalism is what you are referring to here, not fascism. Fascism is a system of radical state control. It may or may not result in wealth inequality, but if it does, it is incidental to the radical state control. Capitalism results in wealth inequality because it is more efficient to generate wealth by investment than by sale of labor alone. Wealth inequality is neither moral or immoral, in and of itself.
Not really, no. Libertarianism centers around individual rights and the non-aggression principle. Fascism centers around the primacy of the state. They are polar opposites and neither is necessarily about maintaining an existing hierarchy.

Folks who are obsessed with something always seem to be projecting in some way. Food for thought.

American Libertarianism is essentially the freedom to:

    Exploit hierarchial systems.

Exploit people with less power and wealth than you

    Exploit wealth divides.

Exploit systems to maxamize one's own ability to coalesce and maintain power.

Fascism is kind of a load term since it really is referencing a different time period and built around Mussolini as the archetype.

It is a fact though that the base of the Republican Party that drives its policy and chooses it leaders is very much autocratic fundamentally and champions oligarchic corruption with its elite donor class.

Everything from the policies of tax breaks for the elites while squeezing the working class, full control of women’s bodies, etc to championing the hallmark moment of corrupting government with Citizens United to literally trying to overturn a Democratic election that didn’t go your way.

Yeah… the GOP is at its heart autocratic and corrupt for sure. If that’s what you want that’s cool but don’t sit here and write up a 2 page diatribe to try to whataboutism your way out of that fact.
