The Rockets have the following high value assets Green Eason Sengun Smith Jr. #4 The Nets Picks I bet you could put together trades and free agent signings, which would land 3 star level players. I also bet that it wouldn't cost as much as you think, because other interested teams just flat out don't have good assets to trade. If you chose that route, I think you could find a way to make a contending team now, that still has some of our young talent, for the future. Its just one avenue we could take.
Ive become more open to FVV. Better defender than Harden and more likely to buy in. #20+Tate+Christopher+Garuba+KMJ for #10 and 2 future 2nd rounders #4–Whitmore #10+Brooklyn FRP top 10 protected for 8 and Gafford. Pick turns into 2026 lotto protected if it doesn’t convey. #8-Jarace Walker FVV 4 years 150 million. 4th year partially guaranteed. Dillon Brooks 1 year 20 million team option on year 2.l Pat Bev 1 year 10 million Sengun/Gafford Smith/Walker Eason/Brooks Green/KPJ FVV/KPJ/Pat Bev/Washington
Combo's aside, I bet the following guys will be in trade discussions Gobert KAT Bridges Brown Beal Siakim Murray Lillard Zion Mitchell Turner Lavine Derozan
It's just a question couldwe swing Pick 4 Tate to the Pelicans for Zion and there 1st rounder. Then flip Picks 14 and 20 plus KPJ, KMJ and a Future Nets pick to Washington for Beal?
The trouble is none of those guys is a top 10 player in the league, and historically you almost never see a team without a top 10 player actually win a title. A grab bag of three of those guys would make the playoffs, maybe even make the second round, but I would have no confidence in them going all the way. I still think patience is our best path for the moment. If Luka or Giannis becomes available I'll be demanding the Rockets trade for him alongside everyone else, but until then I think we should stay the course and be stingy with our young, high-upside players/picks.
Warriors said they’re looking to trade Kuminga to move up. What if we trade #4 for #6 and #11 and then trade #6 for Kuminga? How does he project compared to jarane walker and these new cats?
I loved him coming into the draft a couple years ago, but at this point I’d rather have Walker or Hendricks than Kuminga. And I’d rather have Jabari or Tari than Kuminga. In fact, given his poor attitude, poor work ethic, and disappointing production I’d stay away. We don’t need another self entitled bad locker room guy, or another developmental prospect. The Warriors are trying to move him for a reason. It’s starting to look like they struck out with Moody and Kuminga.
Got a legit source that says Harden is with PJ Tucker, Laremy Tunsil and CJ Stroud at Andretti in Katy right now
Yep he’s in Houston all the time. It probably doesn’t mean anything, but I figured I’d mention it. The source also said he’s looking a little on the heavier side lol
Harden and Beal would be a sick backcourt. Too bad Brad is going to MIA fat is the new thing now. Ask Jokic. Our Big Three next year will be D.Nix/Harden/Zion. (literally)
really worried about fat Harden as he ages. He’s never been much of a cutter or mover without the ball, the weight isn’t gonna help. I just don’t like the Harden fit with Ime. My only solace is that if harden does return it’s because Ime wants him. And I trust he knows what he’s doing.
To Rockets: Zion Williamson, Derrick White, #14 pick From Rockets: Jae'Sean Tate, Kenyon Martin, #4, #20 To Celtics: CJ McCollum, Jae'Sean Tate, #4 From Celtics: Jaylen Brown, Derrick White To Blazers: Jaylen Brown, #20 From Blazers: Anfernee Simons, Nassir Little, #3 To Pelicans: Anfernee Simons, Kenyon Martin, Nassir Little, #3 From Pelicans: Zion, CJ McCollum, #14 Celtics and Pelicans both get cap relief. Blazers get a reliable star for Lillard. Rockets gambling on Zion for #4 and scraps. Celtics get win now player in McCollum to replace Brown, Tate to replace G Williams, and #4 to find next young piece. Pelicans do backcourt of Scoot, Simons, and Murphy. Martin and Nance compete for PF. Rockets give up 2 role players and the #4 pick, which has maybe a 20% chance at a regular allstar to gamble on Zion. White fills in at PG short term and knows the systems from San Antonio and Boston. Then Rockets move up to 14 from 20 to target either future PG or backup center...
Whatever people think of Jalen, Jabari, Amen if we take him… they are all reported maniacally obsessed with basketball and getting better. That at the core makes it fun to watch and support this team. Harden (and Zion) don’t consider basketball a priority. They just don’t care very much. If either are at the core of the team, why should we?
fair enough. I do think Kuminga was underutilized at Golden State. They certainly could have used him against the lakers in the playoffs to provide some defense and athleticism/size. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns into a star eventually somewhere.
