Sports- Let the sporting bodies deal with it.

Changing rooms - How many men have 'sued' to get into changing rooms? I dare you go to any womens forum, subreddit, etc ask this question. Look up data on this. Most women DGAF about this issue. It would be more shocking to force Transwomen to go into mens changing rooms and dressing rooms. Women will tell you that the women's restrooms and changing rooms are disgusting things that people don't want to spend too long in.

Drag Queens - 0 proof that Drag Queens are trying to indoctrinate children...well, actually, yes the stated goal of DHS is to teach children to not bully so I guess that is indoctrination.

Chemical Castration - I support puberty blockers because it should be between that family and their doctors. If a parent is forcing a child they can be punished for it and if a doctor does malpractice they should be sued, but we should not ban things because people abuse them. That is a horrible precedent to set.

Genital mutilation - EXTREMELY rare for children and already frowned upon. Not really a thing. If you're going to say this is a thing then I should also claim that America is extremely racist based on a few racist protests or assaults. These happen FAR more than genital 'mutilations' that happen in the USA.

Pronouns - Force? There have been no laws in the USA trying to force anyone to use pronouns, it's just basic respect you give someone. Maybe I should start referring to you as she/her? When there are laws that force people to speak a certain way (any kind of way) I'll be against that. People holding a society up to standards of respect though, that's good.

Misgendering - Same as above. There is no massive push on the left for any kind of law that punishes people for misgendering. There have been a few local attempts but they get (right) struck down by a judge.

Again, the left already won this culture war a decade ago, why would they be seeking a rematch? the right is the one always going on about culture wars, wokeness, etc. Just look at the politicians. GOP candidates go on about trans issues weekly while Dem reps only talk about them when they are asked to or replying to something.

Most children are unable to consent to brain surgery or ANY procedures. Guardians always provide consent on behalf of their children for all procedures. This is standard laws and practices because we trust parent to do what they believe is best for their children.

No, I'm actually not okay with bottom surgery on children for gender dysphoria, and I believe it should be heavily regulated. My viewpoint does not stem from the assumption that parents are inherently malicious. Parents love their children and want what's best for them. My concern lies in the potential for some healthcare providers in the US to rush or make mistakes in performing such procedures, potentially based on inaccurate diagnoses from other providers. As I have mentioned before, the government can play a role in ensuring parents are well-informed and that healthcare providers adhere to strict standards of care and best practices, which emphasize caution regarding irreversible procedures.

Returning to what I am firmly against:

The government should not restrict standard of care options for parents, and it definitely should not separate children from parents who choose standard of care. We have already witnessed laws that impose a blanket ban on gender-affirming care, depriving parents of those standard of care options. That is unjust. Now --- the mentioned law permits the state to remove children from parents who opt for gender-affirming care, including puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy, not solely bottom surgery. This constitutes an overreaching and invasive government approach that, as I mentioned earlier, even most Republicans today oppose.

So what about these stories of crazy parents who refuse to let their child have life-saving surgery, for religious reasons?

If the standard of care clearly mandates treatment for saving a life, it makes sense for the state to intervene. However, there is also a potential danger associated with this approach. While I unquestionably place more trust in the healthcare community than in the government, it is not infallible. Therefore, it should be a situation where it is evident that without treatment, the child would be harmed for the government to step in.

I believe the established standard here is that a provider can override a parent's refusal for care if it is necessary for life-saving or life-sustaining purposes. Beyond that, someone would need to take the parent to court, and the court would have to make the final decision. This process is fundamentally different from implementing a blanket law that prescribes specific actions (must have this treatment or cannot have this treatment). Such an approach is highly inappropriate in the context of medical or mental care, as it heavily relies on individual circumstances.

Chopping off genitals of a child is not "medical care".

    brain surgery is medical care
chopping off a child's genitals is not medical care

even when you try to come up with an example to bolster your point, you can't

Both procedures are actually considered standard of care, but since we are engaging in the 'we know better than the healthcare experts' game, I will once again emphasize that brain surgery is indeed NOT a form of medical care. In fact, I would like to add that the procedure to amputate a leg, a hand, a finger, a toe, or remove any body part or organ is also not considered medical care. Stop with chopping those human parts off!!

ps - Alright, this is just going back to square one. C ya.

Actually yes in cases of genital cancer or rampant infection or some other problem.

what is so ludicrous about this absolutist position is it was in this very thread situation in Tx where someone was denied gender affirming care for actually affirming their birth gender because of blanket policies being pushed here.

This is why these absolutist arguments are so dangerous as they are substituting political and ideological reasons for medical judgments.

Also to add to my above post severe gender dysmorphia is a medical condition.

While I agree that hormone and surgical treatments should not be rushed into and only after therapy and counseling. Banning it though absolutely is the type of absolutists policy that at one time Conservatives argued as big government intrusion yet now are rushing to embrace.

Correct to ban it. It's obvious that some crazy parents who are infected with the woke mind virus are prioritizing their politics over what's best for their children.

Exactly, the government should stay out of the business of parents and children, glad Elon agrees.

That's because its never been about libertarianism or anything, most of these right wingers care only about the culture wars and pushing their moral code (dictated by outdated religious texts) onto everyone else.
