Miller is a better shooter than, Tate, Martin and Tari. I would not give Miller the position, he would have to compete with Tari for the spot….but Miller can shoot. If we draft Miller, then he would use our resources (money) for a PG(Harden) and C(Lopez?) 42 millions to Harden for 3 years 25 millions to Lopez for 2 years MLE to Pat Beverly
The police didn't even consider him a suspect my guy. Pretty sure his involvement in that case is done.
Miller's lack of finishing ability in games this year is the reason I think he's definitely below Jayson Tatum, Paul George, etc. He's more of a two-level than three-level scorer. Perhaps if he can add significant strength he can add a bit of a post game and finish better through contact. His frame is pretty slim though.
This 1000%. There is NO excuse for what Miller did and as far as I'm concerned he's an accessory to murder. A woman is dead because of his actions and nothing will change that fact. This will follow him forever and if the Rockets take him, it will stain EVERYTHING they try to build here and accomplish. I looked at all of the folks on the Texans board posting about Watson calling him a predator and a rapist yet here's someone whose actions led to someone actually dying and it's OK because the UofA and the cops chose to look the other way because he can play basketball and help them win.
Blazers On Track To Keep No. 3 Unless Trade Interest Changes Dramatically By Draft http://www.espn.com/espnradio/podcast/archive/_/id/10528553 "Contrary to what people think, if the draft were tonight, they're making that pick," said Jonathan Givony on Zach Lowe's podcast. "Unless something crazy comes up. Some type of trade that you just can't say 'no' to. At this stage, they haven't had anywhere near that level of conversation to get fair value for that pick. "You very rarely have a chance to get that type of talent, like a Brandon Miller or a Scoot Henderson, in Portland. So they're not just going to pass up on that unless something absolutely incredible comes out of thin air, which doesn't appear the case right now." "I think some teams that have players that they're interested in have kind of turned their noses up at the idea of a package of Simons and No. 3," replied Zach Lowe. "And I wonder how much of that is at least semi-posturing. I asked a lot of people a very simple question yesterday, a lot of people around the league. Normally, there's a cliff between No. 1 and everything else. And we overvalue draft picks for the post part, although the top-5 are pretty valuable. I asked 'Is this No. 3 pick, given it could be Scoot, it could be Brandon Miller, is it more valuable than the average No. 3 pick?' And the answer was almost universally 'Yes.' "On Simons, every team would want Sharpe over Simons. The Blazers are keeping Sharpe as far as I know. No one is untouchable, untouchable, but that's pretty damn close." While Lillard has a stated preference to win now, it is not believed he is putting pressure on the Blazers to trade the No. 3 pick for the best available package and that his situation won't change if they keep either Henderson or Miller.
Me too, but how can you explain that to your fan base? They need outside shooting and they bypass him for a point guard who is not going to start. Even Trail Blazers YouTubers, say if they draft Amen he would need to start on the bench for a year to be ready…..same with the Rockets
I live in Portland. I don’t think the Blazers front office cares about drafting for need or fit. They are going with the highest upside guy available. If they were serious about building around Dame, they wouldn’t have drafted Sharpe last year. They are paying Dame so much money. Dame wants to be in a Portland. As long as they field a roster that can make the playoffs, that’s all they need. Sure if a good offer for a guy like Bridges or Pascal came along, they’d strongly consider, but the Blazers feel they can build for the future while staying competitive with Dame.
If Charlotte draft Scoot, Portland draft Amen that means we are left with Brandon Miller? If Brandon shooting is off, he is just a 6’9 guy who trying to play defense. Living the Jabari Smith Saga Again?
1. Wemby 2. Miller 3. Scoot 4. Jarace/Whitmore. I love Jarace but I don't see Houston has the best place for him with the current roster. Whitmore is just a better prospect in the next group to pick from. Not a huge fan of him but recognize a lot of what he can do at only 18 right now.
I hope so. I just don’t think he is going to be great from a basketball standpoint. I would prefer Cam to him, not sure about Amen.
