Interesting candidate if we do something like move back, but I wouldn't take top ten. Even if we did a Magic trade and had the 11th pick I think I'd prefer some Gradey Dick if he was still on the board.
Really? REALLY - Porter is an excellent athlete and every bit the passer that Murray is.....Murray is a more consistent shooter at 26, but is playing with better players - and he is a much better defender, but that will be addressed by IME. The point being is that you and others are comparing a guy 4 years older to what KPJ is now....and it isn't far off. DD
You just hate him, which is why you can't see it......gotta suck to root against a player on your team.... DD
I agree wholeheartedly. Most Rocket fans don't give players time to develop. KPJ receives a lot of hate but he's a special player who's been on a team that wanted to lose games. Both KPJ and Tate are underrated.
If you want to fall on that by all means please do. Keep on shouting to the rafters. Keep in mind dd, when I have an issue with a player that's not performance based, it's definitely earned and on them.
He needs to grow up. Get over himself and not have a "head honcho" mentality when he has not earned it. Stop showing his mental ish on the court. Stop trying to show out. Make better decisions. Be about the team. Can Udoka change this? We'll see.
No. Porter is not that fast, nor explosive. And just the fact that you think that Porter is as good of a passer as Murray shows that you have a little blind spot for him. Keep in mind….. I like Porter bit. But he is 1 to 2 tiers below Murray in each of those categories. Just like I would say Porter is a better shooter than Murray. Especially off the catch. Porter also stronger but one of them is really a pg and one of them accrued raw data leading a tank while being played out of position. Again, I have some serious concerns about Thompson BUT a decent outcome on Thompson as an NBA pg pairs wonderfully with Porter (and Green).
You need to re-read this. This WAS all about last year. "He needs to grow up. Get over himself and not have a "head honcho" mentality when he has not earned it. Stop showing his mental ish on the court. Stop trying to show out. Make better decisions. Be about the team."
His body language was terrible during a number of games this year. Completely quit on many defensive plays. On offense, he still plays like he thinks he's Harden, too much dribbling and ISO. Too many inefficient stepback jump shots. Rarely passes unless he's pretty sure it's going to be an assist on the box score. He clearly has enough talent to play in the league, but he also clearly does not have enough talent to become a #1 option, primary ballhandler in the league. If he can accept supporting role on offense and give 100% effort on defense, he can be a very good roleplayer. I would like to see him play more like Bruce Brown and less like James Harden.
If Harden does come back, the Rockets should find a way to get Lively. Big men like Lively thrive playing in the pick and roll with Harden.
He needs to be a 6th man and instant offense with the 2nd unit. He can get 30 mins per game subbing in at PG/SG/SF and play all of rhese positions at an above avg level. Do you think his ego will allow this? I'm not saying he wont be on board, but the jury is definitely still out.
I dunno what is your issue with head honcho it was him taking responsibility and saying he didn't prepare enough. You want him to say he is a scrub and he has nothing to do with winning and losing games? I dotn get it.
they are full of ****, they just hate him, nothing more than that, microanalyzing based upon their bias, he is a very good player who is developing nicely. DD
Isn't just My issue. But to answer your question. My post. Stop showing his mental ish on the court. Stop trying to show out. Make better decisions. Be about the team.
