I voted other. Probably KJ Martin to start the season. Who will get the most starts at SF for the entire season? I don't know.
I don’t see a Tari option, therefore I am not voting. Not sure why the guy who shot better than Jabari and Jalen last year, and is one of our best defenders and rising stars is not an answer option in the poll. If we draft Miller or Whitmore, Tari will still get his minutes. Tari is also compatible with 4/3 combo guys like Grant Williams or Jeremy Grant, as well as 2/3 combo guys like Bruce Brown or Josh Hart. I don’t mind Tari off the bench as long as he’s getting 30 min a game. But I also don’t mind him as the starting 3 because Jabari and Tari play well together.
KPJ if the Rockets sign or draft a starting caliber PG, if they don't, SF will be someone they draft or bring in as a FA.
I’d like to see a Jerami Grant/ Bari/Tari rotation at forward, Brook Lopez as backup center and trade up to draft Scoot.
I would try to add both Cam Johnson & Jerami Grant in free agency. Rockets would be really long, athletic and ability to switch everything on defense (while also adding more 3pt shooting around Sengun as the facilitator). Houston could use their mid-level exception on a veteran point guard (DJ Augustin, Dennis Schroeder types, etc.) Sengun/Tari/Garuba Jabari/Cam Johnson Grant/KJ Martin/Tate Green/Christopher KPJ/Washington/Dennis Schroeder(Patrick Beverley or insert your veteran PG here ) Rockets still would have #4 (Amen, Scoot or Miller) & 20 picks to develop along with veteran PG added w/ veteran's exception. Nuggets have shown Rockets the blueprint for success and we now have the correct coach to hold our players accountable. I would not trade any of our young guys until at least a season under Udoka (except for Nix; we could probably just cut him).
I don't think Ime starts Porter at SF with a PG-sized PG like FVV, Holiday, Henderson, or whoever. We'd be too small defensively. If we sign Harden, perhaps because Harden will likely be exclusively guarding forwards at his age, it would still make more sense to start Eason though with KPJ as the 6th man. Martin does have seniority and was one of our best players last season, if we retain him this offseason he deservedly should get a serious look as a starter.
I wanted Dillion Brooks a year ago....but he kinda lost it and showed his stupidity recently. Don't give opponents bulletin board material. No Dillion Brooks Thought Harden was pushing the offer he can't refuse from another team by demanding Max $$ and saying he wanted full control....discount to Houston. But now it looks like Rockets balked at that on twitter.....Harden rumors going elsewhere have come up since. Harden to Houston probably not happening. Jevon Carter restricted free agent forces Bucks to match. Brook Lopez finds a new setting. *side note: When playing Jabari/Tari together at seasons end....Rockets were around 8th in Defense. So I do want Bari/Tari together often. Just need the proven shooting of Cam Johnson for insurance.
