This is clearly not the case. Some people want free speech and individual liberty. Other people want speech moderation, hate speech laws, try to prevent speakers from giving talks at colleges, try to get people fired because they disagree with the things the person said, want to restrict what people can buy or own, want to restrict how people make money, want to take from people to fund their programs, etc. I would say those who more strongly support free speech and individual liberty are a small minority. The majority want to impose their rules on other people.

What are you talking about. @bigtexxx very first talking point was, "Biden is corrupt and should be in prison for his ukraine dealings."

There's literally not one shred of hard evidence that shows Biden was influenced or received any compensation. You hate lobbying and money in politics? Fine let's get rid of it. But to bash biden for something that trump did shows the lack of intelligence.

Right wingers on these forums have their brains shattered. Ther incapable of policy discussions or talks without conspiracies.

The notion of "free speech" as a sincere concept started as a notion to express dissent to power. The entire raison d'etre of the formation of the concept of "free speech" was to express dissent to power without fear of state suppression.

The Protrocols of the Elders of Zion is a good example of what is bad faith free speech arguments that don't line up with the original intent of free speech. The protocols were a fake document to create a conspiracy of Jews trying to destroy and take over western civilization. More than likely the protocols were authored by groups of men working for the Tsar. So essentially the protocols was propaganda from the state to suppress marginalized groups. So this is a case of the entity in power trying to suppress a group of people with literature and the less powerful people wanting to stop the spread of something that causes hate and resentment towards them from powerful people.

When the right weaponized free speech you will notice it's hardly ever a suppression of speech that criticizes the current hierarchical systems in place. It's usually a fight to say that all trans people are pedos or something along those lines.

I usually don't see women dressed in similar attire invited to schools to perform similar dances.

But I do know a teacher is more likely to get censured if there was a video of them doing the same things being spread around classrooms.

Wait teachers are doing this outside of maybe one or two incidents?

Are children not allowed in NFL stadiums? Maybe they aren't allowed in the first few rows to be groomed by these women.

In other words, 76 of 129 criminals also committed another crime.

Man you are doing the "I'm trying really hard to show my apathy" thing again. Is something that gen x and boomers disproportionately do?

Free speech is for everyone. Once you start categorizing who gets free speech and who doesn't, the next step is to put everyone who disagrees with you into the Doesn't Get Free Speech category. That is the whole point of freedoms, that they apply to everyone, whether you like them or not. If someone wants to promote communism and Odin worship and Jazz fanhood and well-done steak, they can do that. I disagree with them whole heartedly, but I don't try to stop them from expressing their views. The very fact that you promote censorship at the same time as claiming everyone supports free speech perfectly illustrates my point.

    @Invisible Fan

The difference in reaction between women bending over with their camel toe exposed to people of all age ranges including many children to trans people is telling on so many fronts.

One front is that it shows that most people, mostly dudes dictate what harms children more based almost purely on what disgusted them sexually and what arouses them. The cheerleaders arouse them so it doesn't harm children.

The other front that this mindset shows is the inherent patriarchal system where it's men's hornyness that dictates the entire discussion.

You're free to look into the numbers, but you're still ignoring there's threat of punishment for teachers doing the same thing trans or drag people are performing in front of a live school audience.

It's not about grooming and more a question on our norms for decency. I'm up for cheerleaders wearing even more revealing slivers of clothing while doing stripper choreography compared to what they're doing now in games. I also happen to be a 40 yr old man.

You tear down those norms and whose to say those hypothetically small teacher/stripper infractions won't go up. Which is probably better than the current double standard, but what do i know...

Free speech has an intent. There was an original purpose for it. And that purpose is to dissent against systems of power without fear. What systems of power are being scrutinized by ******** on trans people constantly?

Everyone again believes in free speech in theory even Nazis who complain that their speech is surpressed.

If Nazis can mimic free speech talking points then anyone can.

What are the numbers? I hope your motivation to care about this subject and it's harm on children isn't based on tweet individual anecdotes but rather hard data.

So I'm assuming you got the numbers right??? Right?!?!

    lol You brought up numbers.

You accepted the original observation that teachers can't do the same thing as trans/drag exhibitionists and you had to resort to the argument of it happening is "outside of maybe one or two incidents" because you weren't able to come up with a reasoned response why that double standard makes logical sense.

    Thanks for playing.

You brought up the numbers of the amount of trans and drag people flaunting their undies at children?

I honestly need a refresher. What are they?

And I'm not playing. I'm trying to sincerely understand the epic disproportionate level of ire on the trans community today.

If you want to fight for the original intent of free speech, this is more applicable:

    https://theintercept.com/2023/05/31/cop-city-bail-fund-protest-raid-atlanta/

Notice the difference. It's a dissent movement over encroaching power of the state towards the common people.
