What? That isn’t true at all.
There may have been a few games he didn’t close because Silas is a close minded individual like yourself, but he forced his way past that because he’s the best player on this team.
Every metric there is says he’s the best player on this team and it isn’t close

Again, I didn’t say we should have traded Sengun for a wing player. We had three good wing players in their first 3 years — I said we needed to focus more energy developing them than Sengun because wings control the league. Not that we needed to completely toss Sengun for ANOTHER wing.

And kpj would have looked a lot better if we weren’t such poor shooters. And Jabari had no offensive game to develop. They had to build him from scratch, all he had was good shot form — but no moves and seemingly no ability to work off ball. Why is off ball play not considered in terms of development needs?

Did he or did he not get pulled at the end of some games? And don’t give me that Silas ****. I even remember when Jabari yelled “take his ass out” to Lucas bc Sengun sucks so bad on D

I said some games. Because Silas is close minded like you. But he forced his way into the closing lineups because he’s the best player on this team.
You might want to look at end of game stats, elite defender end of games

All I can ever see in this clip is Green throwing a tantrum because he didn't get the ball.

We have some players with absolute gutter trash attitudes.

    Yul C.

Ime will probably experiment at first.

Then he will see Alpi's immense talent first hand, and will adjust.

So even if what you wish for happens temporarily, don't gloat too soon.

Ime's first 20 games as head coach of the Celtics weren't great, then things improved. Change takes time.

Are you going to answer my question? You were proven wrong last year with a terrible coach who did everything he could to not promote the best player on the team.
Now we have a good coach who has literally already said he wants to feature the best player.

Are you just going to keep hedging?

At least you were honest enough to admit that you have already been wrong - you expected him to be worse than he has been. Props for being honest, at least.

If Ime does as Alpi says, there will be no reason to turn on him.

I'm with maj on this. In some games, he will leave the court with 2:00 remaining in order to receive a standing ovation and love from the fans.

I think it's complicated. KPJ was due for a contract decision before Sengun so I am sure the FO wanted to see what they had in KPJ so they let him have an oversized piece of the offense during the years leading up to the contract and the years of abject tanking. I don't think KPJ and Green iced out Sengun, I just don't think they were given much direction and the former two don't exactly have a basis in team fundamentals.

Our catching staff was mediocre at very best, given they had a very meddling FO and not exactly hiring the top assistants and auxiliary staff. It was just a sh*tshow and we can only hope this next coaching staff is given more autonomy, resources, and can build a base of competence sooner than later.

I could totally being projecting, but it feels like Ime would prefer Sengun in the high post orchestrating like Draymond and Sabonis.

I think Jabari is better than you think. He has been a good shooter since high school. He just needed to be acclimated to the NBA game, which the team never bothered to help. Silas himself said that they didn't run any plays for him. He showed that he had the ability to get his shot off at midrange and drive to the basket. I don't think "he had no move and had to be built from scratch" is a fair assessment. The fact that he looked completely lost for more than half a season is a testament to the lack of good environment to help him grow.

And what have they done to develop wing players? They played Gordon heavy minutes before they finally got rid of him, at least 1.5 seasons too late. Tate couldn't shoot and still can't. Martin is a rim runner who actually benefited from Sengun's playmaking a lot more than from KPJ's.

The fact is, developing Sengun and developing perimeter players are not mutually exclusive. It could be synergic. What you need is a good play maker and Sengun is by far the best play maker on the team.
