    Chaz is slashing .292/.393/.458 .851

    Diaz has an OPS of....1.228

So no, I don't think he's knows what he's doing

Actually they played with only 12 active pitchers yesterday after Stanek was placed on bereavement.

I am waiting to see who they flew in for AAA to take his spot today.

Now that we're proper sh!!ting on Julks, watch him hit a 2B and a bomb today and steal 3rd and that kind of stuff

I see him do that stuff all the time and love it.

But he is a complete boom or bust player, nothing positive at all happens in his outs which account for 70% of his PA

The negative plays still outnumber the positive ones, dragging down his overall value.

But that would still be enough as the 8th or 9th best hitter on a team, except the guys being benched are simply better.

Hey, I s**t on Julks being in the lineup almost every day, he still finds a way to suck much more often than not. If my crap talking led to results he'd be the 2nd best player on the team by now, just behind Maldonado.

I don't like talking crap about Julks either, I like the local boy made good. It's not his fault Dusty insists on playing him far above his station.

I'm just saying...we've buried guys (rightfully) in the pregame on numerous occasions only to watch them do good things.

Now that I've mentioned it, it won't happen of course.

This is the Dustyest of all Dusty lineups that has ever been Dustyed, if Dusty could outDusty himself he certainly Dustyed it today.

I feel bad for Bielak but

Altuve (.501) and Pena (.643) have both been scuffling in June

Maldy is due for a day off.

A RHP is on the mound so maybe sitting Chas isn't the worst thing.

Maybe this is the best lineup to win today AND start the homestand vs Washington rested and ready to kick ass

    Hope so

but if Dusty is that good, he needs to be playing the Lotto

Except Altuve is 4 for 11 the last two games with 4 runs scored, couple of doubles, couple of steals

I mean if he needs a day off he needs a day off, but sitting him hardly seems like the "best lineup to win today"

Not inconceivable… basically did that yesterday. But he doesn’t need to be getting more AB’s than Tucker or Diaz today.

Altuve being off not surprising just coming off the oblique injury. Pena will be missed more for his defense at the moment.

I mean, Chaz has slightly better numbers against RHP than Julks too.

Hot take, I think if given regular playing time Salazar might be flat out better than Maldonado at this point his career. I would like to see him catch more, so long as Diaz is getting AB's at DH/1B.

Yea Pena is only 5 for 10 the last two games, definitely don't need that in the lineup

I am excited to see Grae play and how he handles SS.

It would be really nice to see him get a few firsts today.

    First hit

    First run scored

    First RBI

    First SB

    First extra base hit

    First HR

    First multi hit game

    First multi HR game

    First cycle

Ok, a guy can dream can't he?

You’re supposed to be complaining about Julks and where he is in the lineup… not about guys getting scheduled off days, lol.

I’m not… but without any other backup infielders on the roster, he’s the only option.

Not a stretch at all. Some older NL pitchers would have better numbers than Maldonado at the plate.
