Say what you will about Trump, but the guy is an absolute dynamo of constant, 24/7/365 cons and scams. He scammed and conned his way to the POTUS and probably has tens of billions of ill-gotten gains socked away in foreign accounts. Constantly bilking his cult for money at every turn. And despite his criminal charges is still going strong and the front runner for the GOP nomination in 2024. Gawd bless ‘Murica.

I honestly can’t think of a con man who has reached these heights, ever. Is there anyone in all of history who even compares?

I’m not sure anyone in American political history has ever played the victim so frequently while simultaneously trying to play the role of the “strong man” There are historical examples of that outside of the US, but Trump perfected the art of that con here.

    Jack Welch?

I'd argue he has done more damage to society given how many executives followed his lead and how much the main stream media propped him up as some genius executive. Donald Trump at least doesn't have the backing of polite society liberal media.

he’s damn good at what he does…an all-time great grifter…the GOAT scammer

Trump could pull of a Nigerian prince scheme right now without concealing his identity

just his name alone gets people, he doesn’t even have to be directly involved…MFers out here buying thousands of dollars worth of Trump bucks thinking they can redeem them at the local bank in 2024 for 10x the amount

everybody’s credit score drops at least 50 points just from being in the same room as Trump

Is there any hard numbers on his personal wealth? To judge a confidence man;s career you need know what they got from keeping the con going.

The left paint him as broke just as often as they say billionaire based on what is needed for their current story.

    Greatest conman? Billionaire.
    Russian agent? Broke

I need real numbers to asses where he ranks. Elizabeth Holmes became a billionaire by making NOTHING and had the balls to fake her voice all the time.

Trump should be a guy running late night infomercials on basic cable. I’ll say this again he’s a genius at marketing and branding. He’s also very lucky.

So yes he’s a great conman who happened to take advantage of a huge opportunity at the right time.

Yes he could and there’s also a lot of people buying his NFT’s.

That is the point of this thread.

Yes but Donald Trump also did not start the culture of ditching the old style of management where employees were life long commitments with pensions. Jack Welsh arguably started the era of "shareholder value at all costs" capitalism that gutted GE into basically a bank where many executives followed his lead in similar style management.

The dude is arguably responsible for thousands upon thousands of lay offs. He started the who "fire the bottom 10%" trend also.

Can I clear some definitions with you? Is Chuck Schumer left? Do you think Nancy Pelosi is a leftist?

He took advantage of a certain disillusioned zeitgeist that has been creeping into the American consciousness. The scale might be greater than before, but I don't think he did anything new or extraordinary.

is it at all relevant to the reporting dichotomy of Trump being broke and rich depending on the narrative?

Yes. The arguments neo-liberals make and arguments leftist make are different. There is naunce here but I'm pretty sure you just want to force feed a narrative here.

I don't think the difference is at all philosophical, it's simply a matter of convenience for whatever current conspiracy theory is gaining traction.
