The love affair with Corey Julks reminds me of all the fanfare Robel Garcia got when he had the walkoff pinch hit a few years ago.
Hey CF. I have not contributed anything bearing any resemblance to “insider” information since I posted comments by Morey and Mchale during a season ticket holder event. And it’s a stretch to call that “insider”. But I heard literally third hand that Lance Mccullers is done for the year, surgery to be announced in the coming week or so, and hopes to be ready for start next season. Since I never post anything of this sort, I hope this will be viewed as possibly useful information provided with good intentions.
Yainer Diaz is not in the lineup today. Jose Abreu and Martin Maldonado are in there. Dusty gonna Dusty.
Thanks. It seemed pretty obvious it was heading there. Wouldn’t surprise me if he eventually admits it was reaggravated as far back as the playoffs, and he pitched game 3 of the WS injured. (And not because it was banged by a champagne bottle in NYC). At least he nailed the World Series championship celebration speech.
Corey Julks is for all practical purposes a starter at this point. Chaz is the 4th OFer and Diaz is the backup catcher.
What I don't get is why Dusty views he, Meyers, and McCormick as equal when every piece of data shows him clearly a step or 2 below both of them? He is just rotating: Julks and Meyers Julks and McCormick McCormick and Meyers Repeat. Jake and Chas should be pissed. They have earned more playing time. I would like to see McCormick and Meyers Julks and Meyers McCormick and Meyers McCormick and Meyers McCormick and Meyers McCormick and Meyers Julks and McCormick McCormick and Meyers McCormick and Meyers McCormickand Meyers Repeat
Julks has far worse numbers against LHP, worse numbers against RHP, and far worse defensive metrics. He's started 9 of the last 12 games.
It’s more in line with the Dubon experiment last year… which resulted in less playing time as the season went on and nothing in the playoffs.
I don’t see much changing till they start losing games… or whenever Brantley is back. then he can take solace knowing he at least beat out David Hensley for a big league job.
**** the Rangers. The awesome part is we're getting McCullers back from TJ and we haven't missed a beat.
That's the 2nd TJ for deGrom. Not a ton of guys come back from the 2nd one. I know Taillon and Eovaldi had it twice though.
