I lile the idea... only problems I could see...

    1) Bulls may not want to tank
    2) The Hornets are taking your word you will take Scoot over Miller

Personally, I probably like Miller a little more but I could go either way...

Main concern for me is defense on the team. Ime may be able to coach it into them but sometimes guys just don't have it. Not sure giving up additional assets makes sense to get Scoot if they can be used to find a switchable 3 and d guy to pair with Jabari.

If you're going with a backcourt of Scoot and Jalen you need to have confidence one of them can take on the best backcourt scorers in the league.... Scoot might be the guy but it could impact his offensive game expending energy chasing Ja, Ball, Murray, Luka, Kyrie, etc.

That is the hope. I was referring to have someone with him like him.

If you're limited on defense at the 2 and 5 your 3 and 4 need to be able to switch onto just about anyone...

Spacing on offense critical too because Sengun is in the paint already and you need room for Jalen and KPJ to drive. They get by their guy to run into 4 dudes in the paint, 2 of which are trying to stop them, it's usually not a great result.

Blazers couldn’t take on all that salary without sending several players out.

I re-did the trade in Fanspo. Took KPJ and Tate out of the trade and sent Simons to the Bulls. That solved the money issue. Doesn’t really make sense from the Rockets perspective, since they would be giving up 4,20, and Nets 2024 pick to move up to 2. If Charlotte is content with whoever is at #4, then they could just trade with the Rockets. Those 3 picks to Charlotte would probably be an overpay. The Rockets could probably just do it for #4 and #20 and either tate/KJM. If they give up the Nets pick, it would probably just be #4, Nets pick, and Tate or KJM.

If I was a team looking at what the rockets have done over the last 3 years, and what they came away with…no thank u. You’ve got to be lucky to tank successfully. I don’t see many teams signing up for that. It’s literally destroyed the reputation of our franchise, and we don’t really have a franchise guy to show for it. This despite being one of the winningest organizations in the nba over the last 25 yrs. With the flattened lotto odds, a dedicated full season tank job just isn’t worth it.

We can absorb Hayward’s contract in this scenario

A useful exercise for considering these kinds of trades is to take a stab at creating your own trade value rankings. Objectively rank the top 100 trade assets in the league by how much you think their market trade value is, contract and team control taken into account.

So the top 10 is going to look something like Jokic, Giannis, Tatum, Luka, Booker, Shai, Embiid, Ant, Haliburton, and Wemby, in some order. The absolute best players or elite players still on rookie contracts. Then keep going down the list.

Ask yourself, where would Miller, Scoot, and Amen land in that ranking today, with 8 years of team control? IMO, Scoot and Miller's midpoint would be in Cade and Paolo's range, ~25th-40th. Amen's midpoint would be in Jaden Ivey's range, ~40th-50th.

Now think about players like LaVine, Siakam, Anunoby, Dejounte (the last 3 all expiring contracts). Where do they fall in the ranking as trade assets? Top 50? IMO, no. LaVine is the closest, but not there.

You need to go one level better to get to players in the same range of value as the #4 pick. Players like Ingram, Garland, Mikal Bridges, Bane, Markkanen.

None of them may be available right this minute, but we can't make a bad value trade just out of some fake sense of urgency. We have $65M of cap space, a great new coach, significant expected internal development, and all we have to do is win 35 games next year for it to be viewed as a successful season -- we should have no urgency. Let's not get fleeced.

that’s crazy. Scoot is an interesting prospect, but no way he’s worth all that. I wouldn’t even trade Scoot for Scoot, not to speak of Tate + 3FRps on top of that.

We don't have a franchise guy if you believe the only players capable of being franchise guys are players like 19 year old Luka, Zion or LeBron.

Based on quality, we don't have a franchise player, I think that's pretty settled at this point. Some hope that certain guys will eventually get good and become that, but as of right now, there's not really anyone close. We might have some Stevie Franchise quality guys, but those aren't real franchise players.

That said, this offseason it appears as if the FO and new head coach are setting up 2 guys as the face of the franchise going forward despite neither thus far showing the quality on the court you'd want from guys in that role. We'll see what things look like after FA and the draft.

•The Rockets are fielding trade interest for the fourth overall selection, as well.

•The Magic at No. 6 are also armed with the No. 11 pick, thanks to the 2021 trade deadline deal that sent Nikola Vučević to Chicago, which may be enough capital to move up a few positions.

•Indiana, with the seventh choice plus picks Nos. 26 and 29, was quite active searching for answers at starting power forward before February’s trade deadline, sources said, and has made no secret about continuing those efforts this summer.

4 for 6 and 11 is a no brainer imo

    I wanted to trade 2 for 5 and 8 in 2021

6 and 11 is way too much for 4 . I hope ORL’s FO is really in love with someone and moves up to get him .

    I'd throw in 20 for 6 and 11.

    4 and 20 for 6 and 11.

if we can’t move up to get Scoot, it’s a trade worth considering but not a no brainer IMHO. Miller, Amen and Whitmore are legit prospects and two of those guys are gonna be there at #4. Probably not #6. So it really depends on what our scouts think the drop off is between those guys and guys like Black, Walker, Hendricks, Wallace, and who they think will be there at #11. I still think that if you see a franchise player in this first 4 picks, you don’t move back.

6 and 11 in this draft doesn't interest me. If we trade out of #4 it needs to be a young fringe all-star type talent that can help accelerate the project forward.

that is if you have any faith in the Green,Jabari, Sengun, Tari, KPJ.... if not then yeah I guess grab 6 and 11 and hope one of those dudes is a good player.. I just don't see anything but role players past the top 5.
