If you Yankees hadn't been flocking to the South by the millions then there wouldn't be as much of a market for hockey in the South.

I agree... just pointing out the fallacy that on the one hand that city is the "model"... but on the other hand, man-made/planned entertainment districts are lame... when Vegas and its surrounding areas wouldn't exist without an original man-made entertainment district.

Yet there were 40 million people visiting each year and it’s not all about gambling
Plenty of places to gamble in Louisiana or Oklahoma
They got f1 this year too
Plus music festivals are bigger there

    it’s not a model, it’s just unique.
All entertainment districts are man made , I don’t recall another species making them

Yes, agreed... (try to keep up).

I'm talking about the original concept of Vegas was purely an entertainment district... and the rest of the city grew from that.

On the contrary, most cities develop either due to proximity to water or some other natural phenomenon (oil?, crops?, still not sure why Dallas exists). then once the city grows they develop areas of entertainment... but they're not necessarily "master planned". A restaurant opens here, a theater there, a bar around there, etc. etc. etc.

https://shpo.nv.gov/nevadas-historical-markers/historical-markers/las-vegas-the-meadows-1#:~:text=The natural oasis of meadow,” meaning “The Meadows”.

The famous Las Vegas Springs rose from the desert floor here, sending two streams of water across the valley to nurture the native grasses, and create lush meadows in the valley near Sunrise Mountain. The natural oasis of meadow and mesquite forest was the winter homeland of Southern Paiutes, who often spent the summers in the Charleston Mountains. An unknown Spanish-speaking sojourner, named this place “Las Vegas” meaning “The Meadows”.

Antonio Armijo led a trading party from Santa Fe to California in 1829-30, traversing part of the Las Vegas Valley. One branch off the main Old Spanish Trail included the Springs as a resting spot. On one of his western exploration trips, John C. Fremont camped here on May 3, 1844 and was the first to officially put Las Vegas on the map.

It’s the top tourist destination in America next to Orlando

Their hockey team is doing well too

they got water issues but recently deluge of snow in the mountains has actually increased the water supply in lake mead , California was in a drought too and they had like 400% increase in snow and rain.

    Nature got the word out

Just because something has been around a long time doesn’t make it right. I mean people keep on saying the Rockets 94-95 championship was only possible because Jordan wasn’t in the league.
