Well it was a walk off for the Angels. Great performance by France wasted, but hopefully it's at least a confidence builder.
It's a long season but the Astros have some serious competition in the Rangers this year after they broke the bank on their roster. I don't think Dusty has the luxury of managing the Abreu, Maldy situation like he has been. With another team in the division being a serious threat, the margin of error is much smaller. Maldy should be ph for more and Diaz needs more time in the lineup for both Maldy and Abreu.
At least we didn't get blown out Bullpen could've done better -- 4.50 ERA / 1.50 WHIP -- but the offense was 10x worse Canning entered with a 4.89 ERA, then went 6 innings with one run
The people saying that have no logical explanation besides cross your fingers. They have a half billion dollars invested in their offense and pitching and it's performing as good as the price they paid for it. Why should we expect that to fall off? They'll patch up their bullpen easily at the deadline.
Folks, face it, the Rangers are the best team money can buy and they are going to be hard to deal with. Our hitters struggle, struggle, and struggle more and occasionally have a good day. Their hitters are pounding the ball consistently, and their pitching is elite. No need to deceive ourselves, this is going to be a very competitive race, unless the Rangers never let up and run away with it.
Lowe has the worse OPS as a position player in the Rangers line up (.795) and that would be the 3rd best in the Astros line up.
