Seriously if Dusty refuses to use Salazar how he was intended, or even how anyone with a brain would use him, then just send him down and bring up a better bat. That last inning is exactly why Salazar is here. There is no other function for him.
I think today's lineup is why Salazar is on the team. So that Diaz can play at DH or 1st and still have an emergency backup catcher. Dusty just needs to use Diaz more for the roster spot to make more sense.

That was where you would pinch hit for Maldy and then bring Salazar in at catcher. Salazar is not here solely for the purpose of injury or emergency. He’s here to free up the usage of Diaz.

Looks like we will take 3 of 4. Honestly, I'd rather we get the game out of France regardless of the outcome of the game. That's more important moving forward.
Short of a surprise, this will be the 10th loss by the bullpen this season. Our pace would then be 27 losses. That's the difference between this year and last year's team (which also struggled with inconsistent scoring).
