Miller is not good enough to start at the 3, weak handles, weak heart to drive into the lane and does not have any quickness to get pass NBA players

IMO - It's Miller who drops to #4. And I'm not sure he's a good fit for us right now...

I swear people called it before.

The No. 4 phobia or something.

I am down on him relative to consensus because I agree his shot creation may not translate very well, but to say he won't be good enough to start at the 3 is a bit of an exaggeration. His skills and playstyle are very much along the lines of what Harrison Barnes was as a draft prospect, and Miller is probably a bit better than Barnes was in a few categories (shooting, rebounding, defense). Barnes was pretty much a low-end starter/high-end bench player right away, and I expect that Miller will be at least that good as well, and should definitely be a good starter in his prime.

I do have some character concerns with Miller though thanks to the off-the-court stuff. I value intangibles pretty highly and I also don't think the Rockets need the media mess if more stuff comes out about the gun handoff thing. As a result, I would rather the Rockets avoid drafting him in the top 5 if reasonably possible by trading up or trading back if Scoot & Amen are off the board.

If they do end up taking him, I'll hope that his boosters are right about his ceiling and he ends up being a better-character guy than I currently think.

Seeing as the Blazers are probably going to realize that Amen Thompsons don't grow on trees, might as well start talking about potential Miller lineups.

    Harden-Green-Miller-Jabari-Sengun isn't bad.

So we went from no shooting outside of KPJ to no shooting outside of Harden.

Looks like a lineup Harden would quit on by Thanksgiving

To be fair, the other players would finally have a PG and coach that can actually play the role so that would help..

Not really, a guy who is an elite passer is great, but if they are passing to guys who can't shoot....doesn't help that much.

Also, Harden is not someone who will be coached. If Harden is on a team, he runs everything. Udoka will have to take a back seat.

If you surround Harden with 4 guys who can't even shoot league average, he'll quit on them in a heartbeat and demand roster moves.

Don't get too attached to ANY player if Harden is brought back. He's going to get his guys.

I think anyone should reserve judgement on any of these players, Honcho included, until we see them actually play in an offense developed by a real coaching staff. Jabari miraculously becoming a bad shooter after shooting 43% from 3 in college is all I needed to see to know that offense was absolute trash. Players need to be put in positions to succeed and well....Silas himself said Jabari didn't have plans run for him. Jalen was being asked to be a primary initiator as was KPj and neither should be doing that.

Miller is one of the best shooters in this drsft.

You are like the anti hyper you hate on every single prospect so if any of them busts you can say you were right wtf.

Is possible Miller would be a good shooter, but you can't assume rookies will shoot well.... look at Jabari.

Also I wasn't calling Miller a bust, I'm just pointing out that if you don't surround Harden with shooters, he'll quit on the team.

Now maybe if Miller shoots well as a rookie and you had Miller and KPJ out there with Harden that might be enough shooting to keep Harden from quitting on the team before the all star break, but maybe not.

Miller has become so underrated lol. He shot 38% from 3 on almost 8 attempts a night. He shot 85% from the ft line and everybody says ft% has correlation to 3 pt%. He isn't uber athletic but being 6'9 he can still get the job done.

I'd be ecstatic if we get him at 4.

Miller has big shoulders like Bari to build on, but his comp Paul George had really big and strong calf muscles and legs even when he was skinny so the future fit at 3 and even small ball 4 worked as he got stronger.
Miller has twig legs which worries me he's fit for the 2 more so than the 3. Added mass on upper body ala T-Mac with tooth pick legs always ends up with injuries.

What are Miller's measurements with wingspan and hand size? I still feel like his wingspan looks really small compared to someone like PG13

Brandon Miller didn't get measured at the combine, so nothing official.

Scoot, Lively, and a few others also didn't get measured.

Hate that. Like Gils Arena convo yesterday's episode. These owners and GM's need to be forcing these kids to measure and play each other and their teams current player(s) 1on1 and in scrimmages and stop with this cone drill workout BS. Gil even says they lower rims at these type of workouts.

Udoka is bringing that culture. Coaches are the ones that set that tone

It sucks we just literally wasted 3 years with Silas, the guys are going to have to change basically everything they are use to doing.

Obviously, Jabari has to shot better than he did in January and February this year. Besides that, it really comes down to limiting guys that probably won't shot threes well from playing much going forward. In free agency, I expect the Rockets add at least 1 (hoping for 2 guys) that hit wide open threes at a greater than 45% clip to push a non-shooter off the court.
