So when people refer to Bud Light being "woke", does that mean that there's a pending court case somewhere that's affecting their decision making on special beer can color schemes?

When Disney cast an African American for the role of a fictitious mermaid character, and that was described as "woke", was there a pending court case involving another mermaid (real or fictitious)?

    ...

Forgive me here but it seems like what you are referring to is the sentiment expressed in the 5th, and 14th amendments of the Constitution that lay out the governments position on the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

That however is a government/judicial branch regulation. Private industry is not bound to that standard, and most states give private companies in their states the ability to fire, and hire at will.

So is it your point that you are against "Right to Work" private industry regulations which are usually state by state laws? Only takeaway I see here is that you are for the expansion of government regulation to protect workers and generally are against "Right to Work" state laws that protect private companies making decisions to hire and fire at will.

    Is that correct???

Woke has a lot of definitions and personally I don't care to get in to a war of words with you over it. Just isn't a big deal lol.

So what you are saying is that the term "Woke" can mean... whatever you want it to mean to make whatever point you want to make???

    ........

Not a war of words. Just want to understand people who against "woke" and what they are actually asking for. In your case obviously you seem to be making the point for expanding federal government regulation and are against states "right to work" laws given that you do not think a privately owned NFL team, and a company like Disney should be able to fire someone without first being CONVICTED of a crime.

    Got it! Thanks.

.....You'll be mad at his representation and PR firm?

So far Marvel hasn't dropped him yet. Creed 3 is still going to be available to stream or buy. The Army can easily run his ads in a few months still.

For all of those people who love to whine about cancel culture, and especially rant about Disney, I have to say that Marvel's cautious approach in this case should be applauded by those who love to rant about "wokism" and "cancel culture." Marvel could have dropped him weeks ago, but they didn't. Only rumors that they are planning for it potentially which.... well.... yeah they should.

Just to be clear I think he's a fantastic actor, and have been looking forward to him being a bit part of the MCU moving forward. However I don't want movies delayed for years because the lead actor is in jail. The MCU characters are almost always bigger than the actors playing them.

he has been dropped from several projects already and his name has been getting tarnished for weeks…And for what? A lie?

And LOL if he ever got jail time. Dana White slapped his wife into next week on camera, and there were no charges or repercussions. Where is Ezra Miller’s jail time?

strange how her new story and the charges from the DA now exclude Jonathan Majors strangling her

The counts and charges have remained the same, but new complaint language from the district attorney indicates the woman also allegedly experienced injury to her right arm and was pushed into a car by Majors, in addition to the previously reported laceration to her right ear and finger (the complaint no longer includes reports of bruising and injury to the neck). During the hearing, the defense team said they needed to review additional material with Majors.

Disney has and wlll sell toys with his face on in it. They'd probably shitcan him if he's behind the camera like that GotG director.

    Watched.

Thoughts. Despite a lot of flaws, including much of the CGI, there were some bright spots in there including Majors ( it was like he was is in a different movie, a more serious movie, and despite the fact I didn't quite understand his power or threat, he was very Thanos in it and I liked it.) Thought Cassie was quite good as well. And I liked the torch head dude. The overall movie seemed to have a payoff without really explaining why there should be one. So it kinda worked. But there was a lot of bad CGI, poor decision making, and a lot of missing plot.

It was a decent movie and had a lot of checkmarks. Eyegasm of special fx. First half of intrigue.

    Downsides:
Not really fun compared to other Antmans. No Michael Pena, who would've been an excellent post credit nod if he didn't fit the "flow of the story".
No outside nods or easter eggs to the MCU other than a mutated MODOK who they drastically altered like a Fox or Sony Marvel movie. Attention to detail used to be a thing in past movies.
The set looked like a sci-fi film and took me out of the MCU despite all of the expensive set building. The setting felt more like Ragnorak than a quantum realm of an Antman movie.
Points for it still having elements of a heist movie, but there wasn't that much soul outside of Kang and Rudd's third iteration of the same character.
Already forgot the humanistic theme for this movie or what would make people smile walking out the door like the previous 2.
(gripe)Thought Cassie being an overnight genius was contrived. Oh ri-rily? I would've bought her being the quick learning "genius" lab assistant for Hank (better Janet but wouldn't fit the plot) who goofed the trigger but that would be noted as "disempowering" by a studio exec.

The 6 minute Honest Trailer posted earlier was more entertaining than any 6 minutes of the movie.

U see what’s going on here?

we have actual video of Ezra Miller choking out a woman among all the other sh*t he did…meanwhile, it’s just allegations for Majors and his whole career is about to get ruined

    Hollywood is a fcking joke

If Ezra Miller was a straight white dude, he would be out, as well. But since he's a something, don't know what, he gets some leeway in Hollywood. Probably wrong about that, but it's not black and white.

I disagree with what he's done, obviously, as most do, there's something wrong with him. However, he's a damn good Flash. Then again, Jonathan Majors is a damn good Kang. So, maybe you're right.

ah yes, the plight of the straight white male…

    stop…

if Ezra wasn’t white, he would’ve been booted out ages ago…now he gets to stick around for a potential sequel

meanwhile, allegations that haven’t been proven are enough to try and put Jonathan Majors 6 feet under…if Majors had been caught in 4k like Ezra was, he’d lose everything

It's an interesting contrast. I don't think you should so easily dismiss Ezra Miller's identity - and Jonathan Majors's identity - and focus solely on his color. But you could be right, it could be just black and white. I doubt it, though.

because we all know if Ezra Miller was black and going by whatever pronoun/wearing dresses, he’d still be in the Flash movie and not get a recast for the sequel after all the things he was doing…

yeah, I’m sure that’s exactly how it would go down…

Currently, on film, Ezra as Flash has been a let down for me. Nothing about the humor or character has resonated. Hope he can deliver in the feature, but I don't think he has delivered in the team ups yet. He has the look. He has an emotional depth and deep sadness that comes across in his face, but the character so far has been defined by goofy interactions that are more or less regrettable. Whereas Grant (the CW Flash) has had more emotional depth, relatability, and chemistry with his fellow team members. Do I think Ezra is capable of more, yes, but he hasn't gotten there yet.

I was really disappointed in Kang. He is supposed to be the new big bad. But we already saw hi being defeated by Ant man... And sure they might use a different Kang, but to me that is not that threatening. Or they might use 100 other Kangs, but That also does not seem that intimidating. i prefer 1 strong villian that hasn't been beaten over many less intimidating villians.
