I find it strange that you use to live in Germany and I presume know the history of what happened and yet are okay with statements like this from a US presidential candidate. It shouldn't be a "Well he did it too", not that Biden ever took issue with conservatives, he just took issue with the extreme MAGA cult that had greater ambitions.
By defining the political opponent as "a threat to this country", he is surely implying that this threat needs to be eliminated. Dramatic dictator-like stage and color-scheme and all. Same when Hillary talked about political opponents as "deplorables". Only difference is, you agree with one and disagree with the other. DeSantis wants to go after an ideology - woke leftism. Biden and Hillary specifically demonize people - MAGA supporters. I am by no means a supporter of MAGA, but I think dehumanizing them as "deplorables" and enemies of democracy isn't the solution either.
The 2022 midterms had a +3 republican turnout but republicans crossed over to vote Democrat when a MAGA canidate on the ballot..... lol not a single MAGA election denier won their race for SOS... Sometimes a spade needs to be called a spade. I'm sorry if you think it's offensive, but in this particular case I'm glad someone is doing it. I think Trump's type of politics and the type of individuals that have come out of hibernation because of it is disgusting.
