Behind the Buck Pass suggested a month ago Jalen Green for Kris Middleton after he opts into his player option for 40 million. Doesn't sound like they think he's costing much...
I just cited blogs from a Bucks and Raptors fan. They don't think he would cost much... It comes down to Jalen being a liability on defense and not showing any significant development in year 2 in efficiency of scoring. He's below average rebounds and passing. Most top 3 picks go to poorly run teams. That is not an excuse. You can say he's a future star but the odds are far more likely he's out of the league 5 years from now than going to a 2nd or 3rd allstar game... But I get it, you like flashy dunks and don't care about the things coaches do..
Yeah I know one Bucks and one Raptors fan said that stuff but my second cousin who is a Kings fan and a guy in the comments section of Reddit said Jalen will be the GOAT so I guess it's 50-50, right?
There's a decent argument Shaedon Sharpe was better at 19 than Green at 20. Green just has more playing time... better coaching and teammates matter... So does having better numbers than Green. Jalen is a boom or bust player. He has to be incredibly good offensively to make up for the defense. I just see it as a long shot any player had Luka efficiency after being inefficient for 2 years.
You can't judge draft picks until at least 3 years into their careers unless they've just been absolutely atrocious, which is certainly not the case for Green. He's already proven himself good enough to be a 6th man type even if he never gets any better. And most players are not finished products at age 21.
So not 100% like you're claiming... Thanks for admitting the error in your ways.... I disagree though... not 50/50 he's Luka or Harden on offense. Maybe 15/85... Defense I give him 5% at being anything above average... 10% at average... Just my opinion... Out of curiosity, give me a player Jalen could get traded for straight up? Something both teams might say yes... Looking forward to your list of future hall of famers...
Green increased his offensive rating from 105 to 109, and her PER from 12.5 to 14.5, which does suggest he improved his offensive efficiency. Just looking at shooting percentages is a very shallow reading of efficiency
You really don't get it chief, it's not about my opinion, or a Bucks or Raptors fan. Whether I think he'll be out of the league or I think he's going to be a star has no effect on Jalen's trade value. Without knowing what GM's actually think, the trade value can be estimated by looking at players comparable in age and production and CONTEXT. That thing called data you know. To say that every rookie is drafted into a bad team shows you have 0% nuance. You can count on one hand the number of teams as bad as last year's Rockets and with 15 seconds of thought you can figure out how a SG who's handle is not tight yet would struggle with no competent PG or spacing. We were not your average bad team drafting at #3 or #4. Oh and yes it does happen to other draft picks and they do improve once those things change. Scottie Barnes slipped into Kawhi Leonard's championship roster. Evan Mobley joined a team that was going to win without him. Cade Cunningham regressed when playing with Pistons poor spacing double big lineup. Paolo Banchero can't play defense or hit 3's regardless what's around him and that affects more than half of an NBA game. They literally teach people not to make the mistake you're making here. You're using anecdotal evidence or arguing from anecdote and you seem to have no idea how that's different than other arguments. Here you go: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_anecdote
Do Raptors say yes? Jalen Green Jabari Smith Kenyon Martin Jr This year's fourth pick Nets first round picks For OG Anunoby Build around Sengun and OG as your duo of the future. Who says no?
I know this guy has me on ignore because he can't handle a discussion but ya there literally is zero argument for Sharpe being better. Completely different roles.
I'm curious about @Landry's Tooth association with @Bobbythegreat I understand that Bobby cares about the community perceives him so he understands there is an upper limit of how much dedication he can spend posting hate content of Green without coming across as a psychopath so he has to distribute that load not to look as insane by spreading it to other alt accounts. Just a theory but plausible. Very similar posting styles. Very similar incessant repeat of the same talking points of Green while just completely ignoring counter arguments for hours and hours a week.
You guys act like I hate Jalen Green when I dont. I just value him properly. He had not played good basketball his first 2 seasons. Suddenly being good in year 3 is the exception and not the rule. He is one of the worst defensive backcourt players in the league. Basing his value on what you hope he becomes is naive. I hope Tari Eason is another Kawhi Leonard but that doesn't mean people will value him like he's going to be. I have no problem running him out there if they can cover for his defensive shortcomings and they limit his shot selection. That being said I would prefer a good player who plays both ends than a 10% chance Jalen is an elite offensive player and a crapshoot on defense you live with. If he was doing what Giddey does and getting you 7 or 8 rebounds and assists a night you could have a longer leash... he just is limited in how he can help win games.
I've got Banchero and Green down a couple more, Mobley and Jabari up... I value defense and switching...

Dude I read his reply right after your post and I cracked up. I know that pattern of casually moving to another point and acting like the previous post didn't happen. You may be onto something.
I'd put Banchero down definitely. If Green is going to get dogged for being a inefficient chucker then the dude who's bigger and still has a worse scoring efficiency should be also.
