ERA leaders Houston....3.20 Minnesota 3.46 Seattle...... 3.53 Atlanta...... 3.66 Tampa....... 3.71 Texas........ 3.72 Yankees.... 3.72 Seattle after a terrible start has gotten their pitching starting to dominate. And look at Texas, they aren't just an offensive juggernaut. They arguably have the best set of starters (caveat: with a healthy DeGrom).
Does he? Last I saw at the pitch distribution, he still gets a lot of sliders (basically is pitched exactly the same).
We were sooo close to the perfect lineup. I'm happy that Diaz is finally getting a start with somebody other than France.
Bregman on pace for 85 RBIs. Abreu 55. Two totally different animals you've managed to conflate. Bregman last 11 games: .349 .954 OPS 11 R 2 HR 11 RBI You want that guy to sit the bench?
Bregman is heating up, and at least Abreu got one off day 3 weeks ago, and unfortunately, that's probably it until the All Star Break.
Is it because we don't trust anyone else defensively at first base? Abreu is a mediocre defender as it stands now.
i want bregman to get an off day not because he sucks. i want him to get an off day because he prolly needs it if you go based off of Dusty's logic. i want abreu to get an off day because this dude looks off every day at the plate.
That's certainly not what you implied. You sounded disgusted with the fact that both Bregman and Abreu are not being benched for a day.
I agree that Abreu should have had 1 of these days off. He really needs to play today with Diaz catching and Tucker getting the day off. Friday was the day to give him off but the truth is the bench is not really much better, especially vs right handed pitching. Maldy, Altuve, Bregman, Pena, Yordan, and Tucker are playing nearly everyday Meyers has earned the CF job 2/3 of the time. He has started 36 of 51 games. So, 2 more hitters must start from: (May OPS) Abreu: .494 MCCormick .602 Julks: .580 Dubon: .693 Diaz: .585 Salazar: .000 FWIW: .721 is the current MLB average.
