By the time @Mathloom and @fchowd0311 get done with this thread we're going to be turning down Brown and Tatum for Green and Garuba as insufficient value

You only can snap back with strawmen?

I get it. You really have nothing besides regurgitating numbers we read off the screen and applying zero context and spewing narratives than actual discussion of basketball.

I never advocated for swapping Green for Brown but I do get why people would

    I don’t

I’m not giving up a Jalen Green for someone on the level of Jaylen Brown before having a firm idea of what Green is gonna become…he has too much potential

if we were talking about trading for some young tier 1 star it would be different

Agreed. We should not be trying to make finals next year. Rebuilds take many years. We were set back 2 year with a trash coach so let’s give green and smith a year under a non trash coach.

if we can get brown without giving up green/smith/Al-p then yes. If not, let’s wait and see

I mean Celts have options at PG
    - Smart (defensive player of the year candidate)
    - Brogdon (6th man of the year)
    - White (combo guard)
    - Payton Pritchard (cheap, but effective... TWSS)

Of those 4, White would save them $ and looked to be most expendable IMHO.

No….I would sign Kristaps Porzingis! He is a ALL STAR, shot blocker and 3 point shooter. He would work well with Sengun.

Harden is a top 20 player in the NBA and Kristaps Porzingis is a top 50 player….Green and Sengun will soon be ALL STARS on this team.

Sign and trade with Philadelphia for KPJ, KJ and Tate for Harden and then sign Kristaps Porzingis out right for 35 million for 2 years

We have yet to see what green can blossom into due to a sht coach in silas and an subpar pg in kpj. It's best to have due diligence with our prospects b4 trading them away

That's interesting because likely 2 of those would have to be dealt to get Brown to ATL

He's from Atlanta so yeah wouldn't be surprised if that's his preferred destination.

The best fit for the Rockets is Marcus Smart. If Boston gives Brown the super Max, then we should at least explore a trade for Smart, even though we will have to over pay, because of his reasonable contract.

Could be tired legs for Jimmy, but based on White's defense on Butler, he seems to have adapted and somewhat figured Jimmy out. Last game, where White was primary defender, think the stat is something like Butler 0 of 6.

And that put back was unreal... he's jumped up the list of the players to keep for them.

I'll bet Smart would welcome a reunion with Udoka. He would really help set the tone for us defensively and he's gotten better as an outside shooter. Maybe Boston could be interested in giving White a shot as the starter?

Smart is 28, but pass-first point guards have a history of aging well, so Smart might still be very good in his early to mid 30s.

If they wanted Tari Eason + Tate + draft considerations, would you do that? What pick(s) would you be willing to give up if so?
