An 8.5% cap is actually higher than what I currently pay in premiums. Just stop man, you didn't even get the cap amount correct and you make outrageous remarks like EVERYBODY GETS SUBSIDIES and that is simply not true at all.

Most of the patients in my business are middle to lower income so I got the 6 vs 8.5% mixed up so I apologize but you're still wrong about not everyone getting help. You get insurance cheaper than 8% BECAUSE you get it from a employer or someone else.

There's ZERO chance in hell before the rules went into effect people were paying less than 8.5% in health insurance. I literally have over 4000 patients nd could happily show you premiums.

Most folks were lucky if they were paying less than 20% of income in premiums before the rule went into effect

Wrong again, I am self employed and I get mine direct from BCBS, and it was less than 8.5%. You need to stop assuming what you do at work applies to society at large. If you base your entire tenets of policy based on what you deal with for a small cross section of people, your logic will be flawed for life.

Bullshit. If you get health insurance from BCBS without going through the marketplace it is 1000% more than 8.5% . I'll wager 100 bucks that's absolutely Bullshit.. it's not even possible to get it directly from bcbs without going through the ACA.

    You're full of ****

Lets wager 100 dollars that you pay more than 8.5% of your income for your insurance outside of ACA. Why are you not taking the bet?

Lets wager? You can blackout your personal info?

hahahah you dont wanna wager cuz you're full of ****. You can show any moderator the paperwork and ill trust the mod. You dont have to show it to me. Ill wager you 500 dollars?????? Why dont you want a free 500 dollars???? Talk is cheap from you MAGA. Its all you folks do. Its IMPOSSIBLE to find cheaper insurance than 8.5% through the ACA. I do this for a living you cant lie to me.

Under the old ACA rules under obama if you made over 60k you would get no cap or benefits. Under the new rules from biden it has never been cheaper than it is now. Right now if you make 100k as a family of 5 youre paying 495 a month insurance. If you think this is expensive compared to what it was before then you're a effin idiot. I know you dont have cheaper insurance. Im not dumb.

If you wanna take the 500 dollar wager shooot me a DM at any point. I know you wont cuz you're full of **** and i know you're paying more for your insurance. I literally do this for a living. You cant bullshit me. Im not one of your low iq MAGA colleagues

For a guy that does this for a living, you sure are an idiot and uninformed. I'm done with you kid. I already exposed your information as crap, and no, it's not worth my time to send my personal info to a stranger to make a point, you already made it for me. Everyone on here knows you're an ignorant weirdo. Goodbye.

Its funny how utterly full of **** you are. Im just laughing in real life. If you had the evidence you would 100% take the wager. Again you can black out all your personal information. You dont have to show your name or any of your personal information. Its always the same thing with you MAGA. LIE LIE LIE LIE. Its just funny. You can black out literally all your personal info. I or anyone else would have no idea who you are.

Its impossible to find any health insurance in america under 8.5% of your income. If you had half a brain you knew that before these rules went into effect the average consumer was paying close to 15-20% of their income for self employed.

Your whole "gotcha" is i got the 6% vs 8.5% mixed up. You got me. My underlying point still stands. Health insurance is cheaper today than it has ever been.

Yes the ACA rules dont apply if your employer offers you insurance. If you are self employed then you do not pay more than 8.5% of your income in health insurance which is literally a game changer. People on these boards have no idea how many old americans are forced to work until theyre 65 because they dont wanna be uninsured. You can now retire early and get cheap insurance till your medicare kicks in. its a game changer for millions of folks.

@Astrodome Your wife can quit her job and open up a LLC for 300 dollars and claim shes self employed and get free health insurance. Theres many loopholes around it.

I’m an owner of my firm which is organized as an S-corp. For awhile I was paying my insurance out of my pocket. I found one from the Minnesota health exchange set up under ACA and it was very good coverage which was affordable for me and my premiums I could deduct from personal taxes.

Now my company reimbursed me for my health insurance so I don’t get the ACA benefits but if I want to switch plans I can still research local options through the Minnesota Exchange.

I deal with Minnesota plans all the time in Indiana and you have great options in Minnesota. You can enroll right now just make up a excuse you have a change of income.. Minnesota nd Texas have the best plans. You should switch and save $$. There's no reason not to get a HMO in Minnesota as most of the doctors are in network with the aca plans.

The trick for ACA which i tell my patients is as long as you make *less* income than you put on the application the IRS won't clawback any money. For example if you make 20k a year and you qualify for medicaid only you can put you make 27k so you qualify for free ACA silver plan versus a crappy medicaid plan. The silver plans are low deductible (250ish) with low out of pocket (1k) which is epic.

People have no idea how epic the new ACA subsidies. If you've been unemployed for a single week you can now qualify for FREE insurance.....I know some sick people that purposely got fired so they can get free aca as they were sick.

Thats an awesome system. Plan your career around discounted or free healthcare. Not all of us can live in our parents basement.

Mind sharing the name of the last republican president that didn't pass a trillion dollar tax cut for billionaires? I'll be patiently waiting sir.

The funny thing about right wing trolls on these forums they somehow forget a republican president hasn't balanced the budget in 30+ years. You folks have been living in daddy's basement for decades

Because I'm against corporate consolidation and want people to have free healthcare and education? I'm sorry for having morals. I don't care for culture wars.

Yet you are full of opinions on the culture wars.

Free Healthcare would be nice. Unfortunately I live in reality.
If you have the internet, you have free education.

I don't post in culture war thread or comment on LGBTQ stuff. Parents can raise their kids however they deem fit nd i don't think government should be telling parents how to be parents. I disagree with the democratic party on tons of culture war stuff but that doesn't make or break my vote.

Biden with his newest IDR plan will allow anyone who makes less than 40k not need to pay any student debt payments as long as they make under 40k. I strongly beleive in giving poor and low income folks the opportunity to get out of poverty by giving them education. You can literally get a free college education if you're poor right now.

There's absolutely no reason to be broke in the year 2023.
