He's gonna go chase rings on 1-2 year deals. Good luck to him. I think he still has it in him to put up a few more 1,000 yard seasons in a feature situation. Depends on where he lands.
Hindsight, trading Hopkins wasn't a bad move. He was injured and fell off notably with Arizona The return was still trash though. Dude was coming off 3 consecutive All-Pro seasons and still relatively young
Ironically it could have been an amazingly fortuitous coincidence given that the Texans were about to get hit by a nuclear bomb and go into hibernation for 3 years... even though that was impossible to forsee. Trading away Hopkins for comparable picks would have in retrospect been a masterstroke.... but the return was just so bad. This trade will never, ever make sense to me, which is why I believe it had to have been 100% Jack Easterby. Bill O'Brien was gameday stupid, but his personnel choices were never anywhere near the league of extraordinarily bad that this was. This was just preposterous. 2020 was supposed to be the 'great leap forward' year. We had Watson in the last year of his rookie deal. We traded for Tunsil which had been a huge missing piece for years. We had the last whispers of Watt's prime. BOB had finally kinda stopped being a complete moron. It was all supposed to come together. Then bam. The most productive offensive player we had gets jettisoned for a pile of hot garbage. It was the most counterintuitive move in my entire sports watching lifetime.
Two most logical destinations if he wants to win. Better choose wisely since they’ll meet in the playoffs again.
It’s tough. Bills have better defense and I think with him that puts their offense over the top too. But as good as Allen is, Mahomes is a tick above
AFC about to tilt. Bidding War. And if the Ravens sneak into this, they instantly move into the title contention. This is big.
Ravens would have to cut someone then need a 'restructure' plus trade Queen. I know a team that could help them with that trade. our guys recruiting Y'all love gossip. One more
Reading all the comments from Cardinals fans who were trashing us after trade-***ing us that are now spitting on the FO for literally getting nothing for him… it’s therapeutic.
Bill O'Brien admitted afterwards that he traded him away because De'Andre Hopkins wanted to be the highest paid WR in the league, and B.O.B. didn't think we could afford him AND Watson/Laremy. He also didn't think we needed D-Hop in order to get good QB play.... and despite how much he's hated here, his move at least preliminarily made sense... Hop infamously tweeted/and said he didn't want a raise, then immediately asked AZ for a huge pay-day and ultimately this was probably the reason he was cut today instead of traded. Ironically, he just said the same thing again, a few weeks ago before he was ultimately cut.
I'd be stunned if he was signed by the Texans I don't care who he follows on IG. He's missed 15 games the last 2yrs to injuries plus the PED suspension I don't think the Texans are interested at all.
