I like Reeves game, but does he still get to the line at the rate he does on the Lakers playing for any other team. That is a huge question for me.

Playing with LBJ and AD definitely helps but Austin can ball.

This doesn't make sense. If anything he would get to the line more. He's standing out on a team with two all time greats. Would stand out even more on a lesser team where he had to step up more often. If his play in the playoffs did not convince people then nothing will.

He's saying that Austin Reeves wouldn't get the same whistle away from LA and I sort of agree. He got a superstar treatment at times this season.

He's been great at getting to the line in HS, college and NBA. No difference with Lebron/AD on or off the court.

Playing with great players doesn't help you get to the line more often. Other teams will not foul you more because you're more open.

You can make a case that his shooting might take a hit, but it doesn't make any sense to think his FTR would take a hit. You put the ball in his hands that much, he goes to the line that much. Pretty simple.

Let Utah or Indiana overpay for their great white hype. Hes got nothing on Dick Tracey McGradey on a rookie contract.

Let's be real, he WILL not get to the line at that clip with ANY other team especially the Rockets.

Anyone seen a reliable source on what his max offer can be from the Lakers or other teams?

Its 4 years 99 million, just a little under 25 million per year

Lakers can only offer him the MLE, but are able to match up to his max because he’s a RFA. He will have to sign an offer sheet with another team, Lakers will decide to match or not.

If the Lakers match, he will have a “poison pill” or Gilbert Arenas contract like Asik and Lin got from Houston a while back, if we offer Reaves the max, for us his salary would be spread evenly across the 4 years, but for the Lakers, it would be something like 11 / 12.5 / 37.5 / 38 over the course of his 4 year deal

A bit complicated but that’s it

Ok but do you think refs favor Rockets or Lakers more? I think that's what people are saying.

I think Austin Reaves will have a good FTR no matter where he plays because he's getting fouled while attacking the rim. There's a reason why he got more playoff FT's than all the other guards who also play for the Lakers.

Reaves averaged 21/3/5 on 55/56/100 shooting

and shot 15 fta through 4 games which is less than 4 a game. Why are we pretending like he can’t get his game off without free throws because that’s exactly what he did against the nuggets.

I like his game a lot. He is 6'5" but looks taller to me. Over 200. He can shoot, defends well, rugged, what's not to like?

Surprisingly good player on both sides of the ball, and an uncommon confidence and poise for a rookie.

Fools gold that performed very well in the conference finals? It's the best you can get in terms of opportunity.

During the playoffs he seemed like he never missed an opportunity for "contact." That is what I meant by "rugged."

It's the playmaking that elevates him for me. He won't be a primary ball handler but he has enough skills and IQ to potentially be a long term super role player.
