I like seeing Meyers and McCormick in there today. Though, I do not look forward to the conversations on Meyers vs. Chas in the future if Dusty keeps playing them together.
Win the series can’t win the first game 12-2 and then lose the series like p*****s. I hope Bielak don’t be lacking today. need this one folks.
Dusty should play them together anytime they are healthy, rested, and Yordan is not in LF. They are simply 2 of the 9 best position players on the team right now. It's a mystery why Julks is getting so much playing time. He strikes out nearly 30% of the time. He very rarely walks He plays average defense His OB% is lower than Abreu's !! Why is Jake or Chas sitting in favor of him more than 1/2 the time?
Everyone relax today Get away day We are 20-2 on get away days going back to last year Bielak with the Dub today, Neris-Abreu-Pressley to close it out
when are we going to see pena in the 2 hole again? dude can't really do anything when not hitting 2nd.
When Abreu is dropped to 7th When Jake and Chas both play everyday When Julks and Salazar are optioned. When Diaz gets to play consistently twice per week
Astros and Brewers actually have identical .704 OPS numbers, tied for 20th in MLB Astros pitching is the best in baseball
Subtract Montero's stupid numbers and we would be even better. That being said, I still think he can get it together when we need him most. He has not lost his velocity. He has just lost his command and makes mental mistakes. Maybe it's the pitch clock.
36 y/o Abreu has DNP'd once in 49 games Perfect pace for fatigued legs this summer and beyond, and even sh1ttier production OPS per month last season April .656 May .796 June .964 July .923 August .796 September .728 October 1.056 (3 games) It's cool though.... he WANTS to play everyday
Montero has almost singlehandedly ruined Diaz's numbers in that regard. Diaz has been outstanding with everybody else. He had 2 great games with France that were washed away by a Montero blowup.
Super small sample size, so take it with a grain of salt, but since coming back from injury, Chaz has been awful - worse than even Julks in May (0.460 Chaz OPS vs 0.550 Julks). For the season, Julks is actually now better against righties than Chaz as well (0.560 for Chaz vs 0.650 for Julks). Meyers and Julks don't directly compete for playing time since they exclusively play different positions, so it's really about how they fit Chaz in there. I don't know if Chaz is still not right from his injury or what. We never learned what caused the blurry vision stuff that morphed into back problems.
Problem is vs RHP neither are very good Julks has a .654 OPS vs RHP which is pretty awful, especially for someone who isn't particularly good at defense Chas this year has a .564 OPS vs RHP which obviously is even worse, even last year he had a .645 vs them Personally against RHP I would play Chas over him simply because he is a better defender vs LHP though Chas is a stud, even this year in a tiny sample size he is 1.122, dude rips LHP but regularly sits against them Julks isn't a good MLB player, but apparently we have no one else that Brown is ready to bring up to replace him That's why I was hoping he would go down and Hensley would stay up. Hensley was even worse than Julks obviously, but now it seems Dusty doesn't want to play Dubon when Altuve is in the lineup and Dubon is the only infielder on the bench.
Julks has always hit righties better than lefties, so if Dusty was starting him specifically vs RHP instead of either Jake or Chas I would be on board. 2022 Sugar Land vs RHP 21.5% K rate .284 .361/.537/.898 vs LHP 22.3% K rate .227 .322/.402/.724 But Dusty started him Friday and Saturday vs lefties.
RK Abreu strikes again. RK stands for rally killer. Has to be on pace for some sort of record for number of men left on base.
