@Xerobull wow IGN didn't like it. They gave it a 4 and gave the live action Little Mermaid a 7. Kathleen Kennedy!
I’m about to turn this into another “my kid is leaving for the Navy” thread occupation. I can’t wait to see this with him. He leaves in July (or that’s what we’re led to believe as of now). I saw new promotional stuff for this movie today, and as a history nerd who idolizes Indiana Jones I can’t wait to watch this with my kid who is a history nerd who idolizes Indiana Jones
Fellow "history nerd" here. I was reading the Navy Times and ran across a column in Observation Post (it's description: Observation Post is the Military Times one-stop shop for all things off-duty. Stories may reflect author observations.) about an historical film by Martin Scorsese coming out in October (likely too late for you to see with your son, unless he's home for a visit), Killers of the Flower Moon. I developed an interest in the Navy thanks to a father who enlisted in the service in the Spring of 1942 (something that changed his life). Anyway, it's how I found out about the film. I thought of posting a thread about it (and I rarely start threads), but sure enough, @GRENDEL already had and included a "teaser trailer." It's about a series of murders of the Osage tribe that took place during the 1920's that led to the birth of the FBI. It's based on a non-fiction book by David Grann and the film got a 9 minute ovation when it ended at Cannes. Not much slips by Hangout! ;-)
Yeah, I heard that film got great reviews at Cannes. If it's an historical piece and directed by Scorsese, you can be sure I'll see it!
I just can’t fathom this being good but as IJ was my childhood idol (think I made my dad take me to see Raiders like 8 times in the theater as a kid), the last one was just so bad that I’m doubtful. Harrison Ford is awesome in Shrinking on AppleTV btw for those that subscribe
Curious to know the opinion of Clutchfans on this movie, not some industry sponsored critics who don't know ish.
