    Posted in another thread...
3 way (giggity) between HOU + CHA + POR
    HOU gets #2 (Sterling Henderson)
CHA gets #3 (Miller)+ 2025 BRK FRP (lottery protected) via HOU (picks up their "targeted" player and future FRP to move down 1 spot)
POR gets #4 + #20 + Tate (picks up another FRP to trade for vets and a serviceable bench player to move down 1 spot)

I am really hoping that we see Bridges go to Portland and that we are not involved. Because that means that those picks have absolutely skyrocketed in value. Im not opposed to using them to move up for Henderson if we believe in that but Im also not giving them up without the protections.

Id rather look at Charlotte. I think Henderson and Thompson will be the 2nd and 3rd picks and I actually have Thompson over Miller in my rankings.

#4 and Eason for Henderson is fair. Im not giving up those draft picks. We will need those.

That could work for all 3 sides as well. #4 for Beal is technically enough for a rebuild to go with their pick this year

I don't think Nets will trade Bridges UNLESS they trade him to us. The downside for them is too great otherwise.

this team to take a leap needs two things - superb defensive big, veteran pointguard (can be a backup but super backup).

I am not sure how Jaylen Brown moves anything for that team. We have enough 1-1 scorers

I am fine with taking Amen Thompson at #4.

If the Rockets are going to trade the pick, they better be trading the pick for a higher pick.

Portland is going to trade their pick, and the value of the pick will vary depending on what Charlotte is going to do at #2.

Portland will have no issue finding a trade partner, with the Raptors having multiple players that can fit the Blazers needs.

If you believe what the GM of the Hornets says, it is very possible that they take Brandon Miller at #2.

There is a possibility that Miller or Henderson fall to #4, especially if the Raptors get the #3 pick in this draft in a trade.

The Raptors are one of the teams linked to Amen Thompson.

From all the hoopla over Scoot, if a team is looking at Amen, wouldn't that means they would be looking at Scoot also as he's just a better version of Amen (a generational athlete playmaker)

Not necessarily, Thompson is even a better athlete and brings size and is probably a better defender.

So it is possible that a team could look at Thompson and if they conclude the shooting will improve, they could conclude he is the better player.

Scoot Henderson is a very highly thought of prospect - strong passer, very competitive, strong with a huge wingspan. His shooting is already okay and will likely improve as well - has the upside of a high level scorer too..... but Thompson is actually the better athlete, quicker, taller and possibly the more intuitive passer - but Thompson is more raw.

I think the vast majority of teams would take Henderson over Thompson (probably 80-90%), but Toronto is one of the teams that supposedly likes both, but has Thompson #2 on their board.... also, if the Hornets surprise and take Scoot at #2, they would likely take Thompson at #3 (assuming they make a deal for the #3 pick).

This draft is interesting. There appears to be a drop off in the middle of the lottery and down into the early 20's - but there are more potential stars at the top of this draft than most classes.

Always a pleasure to read your posts. When I see you were the last poster in a thread when I log in: CLICK! New info?

@J.R., too, for other reasons. He gets news feeds onto the BBS so quick I swear he's past-posting. Someone sends it to him first, and it shows up here, BOOM.

Here's kind of a random scenario for all y'all who aren't there with me on Amen Thompson:

Let's say Orlando really likes Amen and is wishing they could pair him with Paolo. If the Rockets really like one of the mid-lotto guys, like Ausar Thompson, Jarace Walker, Anthony Black, Cason Wallace, would you be willing to package #4 and KJ Martin for Franz Wagner and #6? If they said no to that, how about Wagner and #11?

For me, I would still lean toward just taking Amen for the superstar upside. But I do really like all of those prospects, and I think Wagner is already a really good player and should cap out as kind of a low-end all-star. So I wouldn't hate a trade like this if it was the direction the Rockets decided to go.

Definitely better than packaging the pick for some roleplayer or C-tier star.

I do not understand..... Teams have a draft board full of prospects.

Why can't fans have several prospects they support as well?

Is this a monogamy thing.....3 years in a row....

    I don't understand your comment?

I do have a lot of prospects in this class I like, I just favor taking Amen Thompson over most realistic "trade back" scenarios I can think of.

yeah sure, the Rockets "deciding" to swap the 4th pick in 23 for a guy who is already arguably the best or second best player from 21 is the dilemma here, and Orlando's really looking to break it up and start again because...reasons!?!?

If they're in love with Amen Thompson's upside would be why. Remember, some front offices have him at #2.

Wagner is good, but his ceiling definitely lower than Thompson's. He's like a fringe all-star if he maximizes, whereas Thompson could contend for an MVP award if he does. (But he's a lot less likely to meet his potential.)

By the way, I still have Wagner behind Green in that draft class. Probably top 5 though.
