Why would you expect him to grow up when you can't even do the same? You've been extremely disingenuous and unfair in your assessments of him and other players in the roster that aren't KPJ. Maybe there would be less of a need to keep track if the Rockets fanbase wasn't so fickle, shortsighted and emotional.
Or just a person who doesn't want his own player to fail to prop up another. I would rather have Jalen and KPJ be good players instead.
The haters sense it's near, that's why they want to consider trading Jalen before KPJ is benched. They will still argue after that but in truth they will understand that these two are in different tiers. KPJ will never be a 30ppg scorer in the NBA. Coach dropped the axe the other day highlighting how KPJ's role should be more off ball as we've been saying, and Sengun was the first player on his mind when talking about running the offense. Jalen is highly likely to be a scoring star, and he's now being put in the hands of a coach who is great at teaching defense, off ball movement and sharing the ball. Fundamentals are exactly what Green was lacking. His pre-NBA training was worse than most top 5 picks. He was essentially a highscool player with 30 G League games without fans or pressure. Have some sympathy for them. Think about how many posts they've invested into KPJ. This is their final summer. We will be celebrating KPJ's value as a 6th man or a trade asset, they will be stuck in the past. It is what it is.
I could be wrong but I don't think he even played 20 g league games due to covid, he would have been better off in hindsight going to NCAA to get that extra burn/reps, he basically came fresh out of HS like a KG/Kobe/Bron/Harrington and thrown into the deep end with the sharks, next two seasons will show is he a orca or blue mouth whale, hopefully the latter but the former is still dangerous
I never wanted Jalen to fail, I still don't.... but he's objectively been terrible. Now that's helped the Rockets tank, so it's not all bad, but if the team wants to pivot towards being a more competitive team, Jalen will finally have to be held to account for his poor performance. Being a high volume low efficiency chucker on offense while being one of the worst defensive players in the entire league simply won't cut it anymore.
Just because I think Sengun is better player rn it doesn't take away the fact that Jalen is great too and probably better prospect. And for the burners - everybody smart enough uses burners to not get this **** thrown on their face in the job later. No matter what the job is
If yall mfs so smart change all your usernames to first + last name lmao, people with fake usernames and anonymous will get on a young star with millions of following for doing the same
JG will elevate to around 25 per game next year on his way to a few 30plus scoring seasons. He has the knack to get to the rim and draw fouls. Even if he isnt hyper efficient that foul drawing ability is going to be huge for him and for the Rockets. Hopefully he strengthens up some to be a more serviceable player on defense.
I don't care how many points he scores, I just want them to be halfway efficient points so that it's scoring and helping the team instead of stat padding at the expense of the team. I'd also like him to improve enough defensively to be merely bad
Someone has to score. It isnt always an efficient outcome. If everyone else on the team sucks and cant hit shots or dribble the ball effectively then you give it to the guy who can get to the rim and draw some fouls. Jalen and KPJ are the only two guys who can routinely beat their man and at least draw fouls consistently with a big gap between those guys and Sengun. KPJ is a better shooter spot up shooter, but he cant pass it to himself on those plays and Jalen isnt a great distributor outside of rim running with bigs. All of those things should continue to arc upward with experience and chemistry.
people will say he shoots too much but when he is absent we don't have anybody to shoot and score lmao. somebody has to shoot and it's not easy to generate looks in the NBA bois. Jalen is already elite shot creator
It's so funny that a KPJ Stan becomes addicted to scoring efficiency after a 4 year player for the first time in his career has a ts% above 54%.
That's because we didn't have anybody to set up the shooters. Everybody had to create his own shots. Your turn, my turn.
he doesn't even take a lot of shots bro. what you mean chucking? as an offensive player sometimes you take a bad shot just because you feel like launching ****. but every superstar in the history of the game had it. by that metric kobe, mj, tmac, iverson were all chuckers lmao. that's just what the position shooting guard looks like... if he were bad at it he would look like Christopher rn
