Randle with more motor and drive is an insane player. People like to **** on Randle. 25/10/4 is really a high end outcome for a #4 pick. Assuming being a plus defender, that is a top 5 SF/PF in the league.
Only comparison I currently see between Cam and Julius Banchero is the ability for both to play with blinders on.
I love the discussion I really agree with the post saying ppl are underestimating Walker , whitmore , and black miller , scoot , and Thompson’s have major questions . ote’s competition level bothers me very much imo this is a draft that has the most variability that we’ve seen in a while . 2021 was also kinda crazy there are gonna be many steals and busts imo I like amens vision , but he has A LOT of skills he needs to improve . And he is an older prospect for this draft . many prospects will never catch up to his raw speed , however , will he be able to catch up with their skill development?
Whitmore is very young, very explosive and extremely strong. He gets to the rim with an intriguing blend of skill and athleticism. He is super ambidextrous and they thumb injury this year, forced him to use his offhand even more. Im fine with Whitmore at 4. I do not imagine he would fall much further than 6th.
So a smaller Randle without the handles or passing? Isn't that like being Shaq without the size and strength?
who I want us to pick is whoever falls between Scoot or Miller or desperately try to trade up, but I know neither is likely to happen I don’t like anyone available at 4 that much, but gun to my head, I would just take Amen and hope and pray he can turnaround that broken and busted NSFW jump shot…but I am not that high on him right now lotto night was an unmitigated disaster for me
So 5 star talents from college aren't small and elite? Who had more hype Zion or Jalen Green? One went to GLesgue Ignite the other to college who was a bigger celeb going to the NBA? Your generalizations make zero sense. GLeague as a whole is better than the NCAA which has over 1500 schools. Sure maybe Duke and a handful other schools develop their players more than GLeague, but that's hard to argue the entire NCAA is better than Ignite when the NCAA has so many divisions and a lot of their schools can be a mess. Your claim about Amen makes even less sense since Amen comes from OTE not the NCAA. OTE is all about the celeb life the players are driven around in limos and spend their time making viral tiktoks. Of course they get paid too. But Amen isn't a celeb while Scoot is a celeb? Lol wtf. BTW unlike the other players you mentioned Scoot did come off the bench in Ignite last year and had 0 issues with it.
Why is it an unmitigated disaster? There's not a huge diff between picks 2-6 in my eyes. Scoot's small and injury prone, Miller is unathletic and had shades of Jabari in MM. Amen can't shoot to save his life, Whitmore has tunnel vision etc For example if you think Miller is the 2nd best player in the draft then the Rox should just get Taylor Hendrix and call it a day. He's basically Miller but more athletic and actually gives a crap about defense.
I agree there's not as much daylight between Hendricks and Miller as people think there is. That's more because Miller is overrated though, although there may be a little bit of Hendricks being underrated in there as well. Just don't know why we'd go into this draft class looking to pick a great complementary shooter two drafts in a row. Loved the Jabari pick, I think he's going to surprise a lot of pundits next season. But I don't want another tall, lanky, three-and-D forward in this draft class. I'm ready for us to find our primary ballhandling point guard. Done with this KPJ at point guard crap. And even if we get Harden, that's a short term stopgap thing.
I cannot understand for the love of basketball why they would pick players from Overtime Elite......or why they have this league so high up...... Is this league even mandatory....feels like just a small time alternative league.
OTE is pretty trash but in the long term, I don't think it matters that much. Look at some of the garbage tier lower level leagues some of these Euro players like Giannis came from. You have to trust the eye test and the ability to identify talent. OTE being a bad league, yeah, that might make the adjustment period take a little longer. But at the end of the day, the NBA is head and shoulders above every league (except maybe EuroLeague), and it's always going to be a big adjustment. Ultimately, it will be up to the player and his coaches to determine whether he succeeds.
