    Spoiled.

...and bandwagons are incredibly easy to jump on and off of, it's a tradition for Houston sports fans.

I thought that being spoiled would help. I feel like I leveled up as a fan over this run. The number of playoff games over the last six years is crazy. It’s a quite a change from the Biggio/Bagwell years where they’d hit .180 every playoffs and get bounced in the first round. I was probably pretty pessimistic back in those days. No more, though!

The mentality was that they were just happy to be there... it is like someone that felt that the goals was making into an ivy league rather than treating it as a first step...

That was absolutely not the case at the time, you could maybe say that about '97

At this point I'm no longer convinced Seattle will compete for the AL West division.

Not sure what's happened to them, but it looks like it's more on the pitching side.

I'm not worried about the Angels, although they could very well win 84-88 games. The concern is definitely the Rangers who are only short on the bullpen from being a definite threat to the Astros.

Yeah 97 we barely were over .500, that was a really weak division.

98 we got Randy and that is one of the top 10 teams of all time not to win a World Series they were that talented

Good ole choke artists. We just didn't know that it would last for an entire decade like that (save for some dude named Beltran).

We need an AI simulation of the modern Astros Juggernaut vs the 90's Braves juggernaut in 1000 7 game series. Who ya got?

Certainly not the choke artists known as the 90s Braves. That was next level ridiculous how they choked.

3 HOF starters and you have only 1 ring to show got it.

5 game winning streak & finally over .500 at home, feels good BUT Here's a shocking stat for how underwhelming our offense has been: Astros are currently 25th in the league in HR's & 26th in OPS. For comparison: Last season they were 4th in HR's & 7th in OPS. So they've been winning this season due largely to their team pitching (lowest ERA in the league). At some point tho you would think the offense will come around, I'm hoping soon, cuz it's been a grind so far & too many guys in our order struggling especially w/ the long ball.

Baseball is a tough game. They also ran into the late 90s Yankees, who are regarded as an all-time great team. I am sure they are disappointed with only getting one ring, but choke artists seems a little harsh.

And the Astros would have killed for those results until 2017.

When I think about choking, the final game of the season for the Suns the last two seasons comes to mind.

I think about Mitch Williams serving up a meatball to Joe Carter

Teams hitting with a .919 ops against him. It's been ugly and he's been playing with a lot of fire, but he's been getting out of it. Feels like a matter of time, but I'll gladly take the results even if they're lucky. Bielak is what he is. I'm not gonna crush him for it.
