Whitmore shot 70% on free throws. Amen shot 69%. Anthony Black 70%. None of these guys have good shooting touch. The Cam “catch and shoot” 3 point stats are from a ~40-50 shot sample size. All the other evidence with larger sample sizes (free throws, high school) is that Cam does not have good shooting touch.
Shooting .70 from line and .34 from 3 at 18 yrs old is not the same as shooting .65 from the line and .25 from 3 at 20 like Amen.
Amen 6’7 westbrook who plays defense Even though he can’t shoot he isn’t a mental midget like Simmons Top 10 athlete the minute he steps onto a NBA floor 6’7 Rajon Rondo like vision and passing ability 6’7 Ricky Rubio lol Idk I can go on and on Come playoff time teams might disregard him totally but hopefully by the time this team is really ready to compete he’s a decent shooter. And I think it was @CHAMPBOY who said let him sit behind James for a year or so to learn and work to get better. Because lot of smoke today about a Harden and Houston reunion.
Not worried about his age one bit people acting like coming into the league at 21 means his career will only be 10 years or something
Amen is going to score in the NBA will he ever go off for 30 idk who knows but his game isn’t depending on that and his “fit” with the rockets is perfect behind miller who I expect to be gone by the 4th pick. He can setup KPJ Green Bari and Sengun and help relieve some of the playmaking duties from Harden.
Amen shot 69% from FT (why lie about his stats? come on) and 25% from the NBA 3 point line. More size, better athlete, miles better playmaker, better feel, better defender. Cam shot 70% from FT and 34% from the college 3 point line. Smaller, lesser athlete, worst passer / playmaker among non-center first round prospects, worse defender. 18 months younger. ... and you want Cam?
I think we need to take a gamble on Amen. Can't be picking a "safe" pick at the #4. Go big or go home. Take the dude with the highest potential
Amen Thompson or Miller. Whoever is there. Thinking it's going to be Miller. Amen's physical tools are too hard to come by. Would rather roll the dice on him instead of trading for whatever vaporware the "trade the pick" crowd come up with.
For how good this dude supposedly is in you guys' heads, Spurs and and Hornets fans should be clammoring to draft this guy #1.
he’s on the older side for a rookie, but people are talking about his age because of the age of the competition he was playing against over in OTE…I think it’s relevant to bring up his age in that context
Amen shot 42/65 FT in the OTE regular season (16 games) https://overtimeelite.com/players/e.../seasons/e130bb01-9005-4690-83e6-320eec091f1f Amen shot 24/32 FT in the OTE playoffs (5 games) https://overtimeelite.com/players/e.../seasons/21083f2a-c307-4623-a0ef-22ed7ade6407 66/96 total. 69% FT%
Meh. He had a blip in the playoffs where he shot better. The last two regular seasons, he shot .65 from the line, which is just unacceptable. Also, it’s funny how you discard 50 catch-and-shoot shots by Whitmore, but place so much emphasis on Amen’s playoff FTs. Amen also shot below .65 year last season when he was Whitmore’s age. It’s unfair to compare Amen’s second season to Whitmore’s first. Amen’s still my #4 prospect, but it’s silly to say he’s on Whitmore’s level as a shooter. He’s not.
