This is a stupid thread. The only way the Rockets win now is if they swing a trade for Jaylen Brown. Otherwise, we continue rebuilding until management figures out they drafted a soft volume-scoring bust #2 overall in 2021.
Jalen Green is a losing basketball player with low IQ. The guy will never contribute to a title contender as a top 2 option.
The #4 pick is all it takes to make the Warriors think kpj will help them? Hahah. Man I wish GMs were that bad.

You don't even need to trade the 4 for Poole at this point. They'd do it for straight cap relief. Dude sucks.
Yep. They would need to send us good assets to unload him and I still wouldn’t do it as we would lose so much salary flexibility for a back-up guard that doesn’t play defense.
Whose cap space? This screws the Rocket’s cap space. GS doesn’t have anything to add to Poole to eat that much of our cap space for a back-up guard that doesn’t play defense. I think you’re confused on Poole’s contract or haven’t watched him play this year. Poole is the main case study bring up as why you have to be careful with signing Reeve’s to a contract. (I’m not one of those guys, I want Reeve’s if we can get him at 25m).
I'll start by saying I am not completely in love with this one, but I'm ok with where it leaves the team. It might be a bit high, but I am afraid of trying to get cute by trading down, so I am taking Anthony Black at #4. I would offer KPJ + Tari + #20 to GSW for Poole and Wiggins. Kerr and the players have said that the team is not championship caliber. This move gets them younger, offers them direct replacements for each player, saves them around $70m in salary and luxury tax, and allows them to draft two first rounders this year (or trade for future picks). This is an easy way for them to offload Poole's contract while possibly getting a better player in KPJ (at least he was this past year). KPJ's salary is not guaranteed beyond this coming year, so there are a lot of possibilities there. This would also get them (or be very close) below the apron, which is no small thing. The Rockets would have a little over $30M remaining. I would use that space to sign Fred VanVleet. This would add 3 NBA champions who are still in their 20's to a roster with 4 lottery picks (I am counting Sengun) from the past three drafts. I think getting Poole away from GSW will help him out. He has a lot of experience for a young guy and getting him out of the shadow of all of the HOFers may free him up. Though, I would not be opposed to re-routing him since it creates a bit of congestion in the back court. FVV/Black Green/Poole Wiggins/Tate Jabari/KJM Sengun/Garuba There is a lot of flexibility here as Black can play PG, SG or SF and Poole can play PG or SG. There may be a few tweaks needed in order to add shooting, but I think it's a pretty solid team that still has a ton of growth potential.
I won't call this a "win now" plan, but a bridge to the future. Should be a play in team at worst. - Waive Nix for Capspace - Opt to not make KMJ a RFA - Draft Amen Thompson - Draft Derek Lively - Philly SnT Harden to us for KPJ / Tate and Room (40m, 38m, 36m, 34m) - Sign Cam Johnson (30m, 30m, 30m) - Sign Brook Lopez (18m, 20m) Harden / Amen / Tyty Green / KMJ / JC Johnson / Eason Jabari / Garuba Lopez / Sengun / Lively
I like the idea of bringing in Cam and Brook. The latest reports on Harden have me completely out on him. He still think he's a #1A superstar and he's just not. I'd run that squad out there with a three-man backcourt of Amen/Green/KPJ in some configuration, or trade for a veteran like Mike Conley instead of signing Harden.
