He looks like he has good size which is important given how the league is levitating towards. Long athletic wings .
Yeah, I would pick him above Ja for that reason exactly. As far as raw talent goes, they are similar (when Ja was the same age).
I watched that video and it left me underwhelmed. His horrible shooting can't be overstated. He's also playing in a league that might as well be something near pick up ball level. He looks undisciplined with how he plays and relies almost exclusively on his athleticism. Yeah he is a good passer but I didn't see anything on the level of Sengun especially against that competition. Maybe he improves his shooting dramatically but he looks like a less disciplined/more athletic Lonzo Ball.
Here is some footage of Amen Thompson playing against the Adelaide 36ers, an Australian pro team that beat the Phoenix Suns during this past preseason
We miss out on Wemby and Scoot but end up with the next best thing at point guard in Amen. After netting two top 3 picks in two consecutives years we we're due for a slide. Detroit who ended up with the number 5 pick last year also finished with the fifth pick this year unfortunately. Those guys really are feeling it tonight. I assume the Draft ends up Spurs Wemby Charlotte B. Miller Blazers Scoot Rockets Amen and Detroit Cam Whitmore but the Blazers pick leaves one to wonder what could happen considering the Dame situation. If I'm Stone I'd make a few calls to Portland. Either way I like Amens IQ and upside at pg.
I’m already seeing the “jumpshots can be fixed, look at Kawhi” cope Kawhi’s improvement as a player is damn near 1 of 1…it’s a rare occurrence
Yeah, reminds me of every project NFL QB being compared to Josh Allen these days. The chance of it happening are slim to delusional.
Why are people talking like players coming into the league and fixing a broken jump shot is some sort of rare occurrence? It happens all the time.
Are you talking about High School? Middle School? At a park by his house? Where else did he play where he impressed you so?
The Rockets don't have to draft Thompson. If the shot is too broken that's fine. Draft Whitmore, Wallace or Hendrix or Dick. They can all hit 3's. Problem solved. The mocks have Thompson 3 or 4. Doesn't mean we have to follow suit if we don't believe in him. It's simple. Just don't draft him. What am I missing?
